Just another high draft pick we had high expectations for who fell of hard . He clearly looks like he has mentally checked out and disinterested and can’t wait to sign elsewhere already. 21 yards last game averaging 50 yards a game, we are clearly not resigning him or going anywhere this year and need picks to try to build a better team next year.

There's gotta be a way to stop people from making threads every time a thought pops into their head.

The optimum time to trade him would have been after last season. As it is, we need to somehow recoup that 3rd rounders we sent to Philly in the Reddick fiasco. If we can get a 3rd back for Breece? Why not use it to rebuild either the Secondary or the WR unit. We're not competing for the VLT anytime in the near future anyway so, might as well make the tough choices now and get on with the roster purge.

yes we screwed that up I think moogey and Glenn thought they would come in and make the jets relevant instantly that’s why breece was never traded than . but we can get atleast a 4th for him now, lots of competent teams hit on 4th rounders here and there so let’s see if Moogey is competent. The more picks the better, breece hall absolutely serves no purpose to the jets right now and he’s probably disgruntled atleast the way he’s playing it looks like it.

Hard to say. Part of me wants him if we can actually find a future qb. Part of me thinks we need to rebuild more.

There is no way I pay breece big money he is a bust at this point, he hasn’t had 1000 yards season to date and certainly won’t this year and that’s easy for running backs to do, he is soft to something Braelon is not.

They would’ve been selling low on him though.

Breece has talent but I don’t think the league has a very high opinion of him. He’s already a torn ACL deep on those knees and he hasn’t really been all that productive of a player. He can run away from people but doesn’t break any tackles normally.

With that being said, they should probably deal him in-season. We’re already basically eliminated from the playoffs (lol) and there’s not a chance in hell he re-signs or the organization franchises him.

Running backs don’t get anything on the trade market.

keep him, run him into the ground and worst case scenario you get a better deal in comp picks than what people will trade for him

He’s a free agent in 15 games. There’s not much more time to run him into the ground.

Tank Bigsby netted a 5th and a 6th with less production/raw ability and he’s the same age as Breece. If I thought the Jets were bringing him back yeah don’t trade him. I just think he’s so disenchanted with the organization that he’s unlikely to entertain coming back.

If they aren't going to give him the carry load of a legitimate 1RB, then I agree: Trade him.

good point they should listen I just think he could end up with over 1000 yards as high as a 3rd in compensation picks as a result of that

but if someone wants to offer better than that, ok

I don't know that I want the team to want him back anyway. We should be spending almost no money on RB next year. Allen, Davis and a mid-level FA signing. It's clearly not working out with Breece, for whatever reason. I also don't know that it's going to work out much better with Allen. Outside of week 1 the OL has been abysmal opening holes and creating lanes. Breece is part of the problem, trading him doesn't really help solve it.

But yea, 3 weeks from now if/when we're 1-5, absolutely be sellers at the deadline and try to offload him. Something is better than nothing.

Breece is twice the RB Braelon Allen, the softest big back in football.
Breece has a career 4.5 yds per carry to Allen’s 3.6

RBs in the NFL are not worthy of huge investments and I wouldn’t resign him, but let’s not pretend that Braelon Allen is the answer.
Breece is what he is because of the Jets and their inability to use anyone properly.

You know, I’m starting to feel that way with Allen…he’s a huge back but he never seems to get the tough one yard we need. He was stoned again yesterday. He reminds me a bit of that old Giants back Ron Dayne…he was also a huge dude like 240 and yet he was NOT a tough stick your nose in there and get a yard. Allen is like that. Yes he’s big and if he can get going he is a load, but he hasn’t proven to be a good short yardage back.

Shit that Scattaboo guy on the Giants last night looked tougher

Arizona and LA Chargers lost key RBs for the year yesterday. Do it! Get a high draft pick. We are already down our 3rd rounder next year and we are going nowhere fast this year.

Not necessarily run him into the ground, but if we have any hope for this team to be better at the end of the year than the start, Breece is a big part of that story. So how about "run him to make the Jets better this year". Yeah, we have no chance of a trophy, but I will settle for mediocrity over what we have had recently.

No disagreement. I think purely from a team building perspective, recouping value on someone who won’t be on the team next year is a smart decision.

I don’t think you sprint to the trade market and take a 6th round pick in September and be done with it. The deadline is November 4th. If you’re 2-5 or 2-6 towards the end of October, you have to entertain a deal.
