Daily news reports the Jets are interested in him. I think he would be a good pickup for punt and kick returns. At the very least we won't have to watch Justin Miller fumble away games and slow McCareins fair catch everything.

i t hink the only reason the jets are reported to be interested is because he just came from the pats.

I like Tim Dwight a lot. Somewhere out there is a great video of all his punt return touchdowns at Iowa.

    EDIT: Here it is

Tim Dwight is a great fit for the Jets.

Excellent punt returner, excellent character, perfect replacement for Chrebet IMO. Plus, this allows Miller to stay focused on cornerback and have less risk of injury returning kicks.

Perfect replacement for Chrebet? There games are not similar at all. The only similarity is they are small and white. Dwight relies on speed, Chrebet on route running and instinct. Dwight is mostly a special teamer that can stretch the field in a multiple receiver set on the outside. Chrebet works the slot. Cotchery is the person to replace Chrebet. Dwight is just another addition to our team....not a replacement to anyone.

I doubt he would be a #2. Most likely the 3 or 4.

I don't see Tim Dwight as anything NEAR a number two receiver. But that's just me.

Coles, Cotchery, McCareins are pretty much entrenched at #1, 2, 3 so far as I can tell. We'd have to deal McCareins for something sweet to unsettle that.

I really like Tim Dwight and hope to see him return to NE this year. He's a great punt returner and a nice compliment as a No. 4 receiver in multiple receiver sets. The only negatives on him are a tendency to cough up the ball and an injury history.

On the upside, he has a fake move that I don't see any other NFL player capable of doing. Almost all guys fake with their legs. Dwight can fake with his upper body moving his torso one way while he starts cutting another. How he does this without losing his balance I have no idea but it's very effective and that's what makes him so good returning punts.

Why does everyone think every WR on the team sucks? There have been countless threads about this. Bollinger is a lot better than he was in the beginning of '05. During those games Brooks was learning, our WRs didnt get much action. Talentwise theyre completely fine. The Tim Dwight move is for special teams if anything. Justin Miller is a good returner, but cant hold onto the ball for his life. Cotchery deserves the #3 spot IMO, Im sure Dwight will be too expensive for a #4 reciever because he will want more money for being a special teams guy and a legitamite WR. I think signing Tim Dwight would improve the team, however I dont think its worth the money and therefore not worth it.

My Ideal WR Depth Chart (thats likely, not a fantasy roster)

    1- Coles
    2- Cotchery
    3- McCareins
    4- Dwight

Dwight equals a white Lamb Jones

seriously though, it's better than having J Miller fumble away posessions, but people that think he'll be the #2 WR are NUTS.

I think it will take a lot of pressure off Miller too and he can focus on becoming a better corner rather than on just holding on to punts.
