The problem is that Holmgren and Parcells would want GM power, and Woody has obviously shown that he wants to keep Tannenbaum.

Bill Parcells is a cancer that makes better for a while and then the whole house comes crashing down. Bill Cowher is the only legitimate Guy available right now and that should be our focus. I'll say this much, whether or not I like Holmgren, it has never made one lick of sense for teams to spend $5 million on a single offensive lineman (for example) and then NOT open the bank vault to get the best coach available at any price. If Tom Brady makes $14 million a year and Bill Belichick make $9 million, 2008 told us that the value there is backward. PLUS, coaching salaries don't count against the cap, so spending freely isn't penalized. The only counter-argument is that coaching salaries are guaranteed and player salaries aren't. But the way money is literally wasted in the NFL (see M.Vick) I'd still consider it a wash.
