NEW YORK -- Three New York Jets players have traveled to Haiti to help with the relief and recovery efforts following the earthquake that killed a government-estimated 230,000 people and made 1.3 million homeless in January.

Safety James Ihedigbo led a group of about 20 to Port-au-Prince on Monday, including linebacker Vernon Gholston, wide receiver David Clowney and former Jets cornerback Ahmad Carroll, along with medical professionals and volunteers.

Members of Yele Haiti, Wyclef Jean's charity, have teamed up with Ihedigbo's Hope Africa foundation and the David Clowney Foundation on the three-day trip. The group has brought clothes and food, and will assist in rebuilding homes and constructing temporary housing and medical facilities.

Nice to see our team is contributing to the relief efforts...would be even nicer if we left Gholston there FOREVER

Gholston is going to fuck up the house.

  3. Really guys?

I know the criticism for Gholston is at an all time peak..but the man just volunteered his time in a dismantled foreign country...

    He doesn't eat babies.

The good news maybe Gholston can find a Haitian with a broken leg and finally get his sack.

Edit: Yeah it is a nice thing they are going. It isn't going to stop me from joking about it.

Well maybe he'll take a look at all that misery and figure that life is pretty good for him and come to camp all fired up and ready to go. Life is freaking short and then you die. Wasting time pretending to be a football player instead of hitting everything that moves is one way to make it short and boring, and then - of course - you die. Might as well hit a few things before you go.

    We can always hope.

wish more guys would do this sort of thing. if more guys talked less and acted more the world would be a better place.

everyone has something to say about gholston but this is not the thread.

As far fetched and hopeful as this may be... Shit you never know. Watch him have a breakthrough year and everyone feasts on crow.

    One can dream right

If Ghost had a breakout year he would Def sets the jets up for a very successful year. We have all completely discounted him as nothing more than a ST player at this point. If he starts on the line and gets a couple sacks other teams will be just as surprised as we are...

Fuck the crow. If he has a breakout season then the Jets can trade his ass and laugh as he slumps again.

I would devour several plates of crow if Gholston has 2 sacks all year.

I just wish he could play football! I think the criticism is justified because the guy takes up a huge part of our salery base and I do not think its asking to much for him to contribute on the field!

But props for his choice on what to do with his spare time!
