So now that it is down to borderline roster guys playing time to evaluate what we saw tonight.

    Good:
Shonne Greene ran well and the line looked good.
Pass D was solid, opportunistic with 2 picks
Played better D inside the 30.
    Decent pressure
    Good Special teams play

    Bad:
    Bad run defending
    Sanchez played very poorly.

Bottom line: decent performance, but the Giants choked in the red zone, against a better executing offense we would have trailed at the half.

So it cant be because the defense tightened up huh?

Our defense had nothing to do with the Giants "choking in the red zone"?

Sanchez wasn't good but I give some credit to the Giants defense, they defended well down the field and tackled well on dump offs. He def. missed one or two passes he should have hit.

It was both, hence why I credited he D with tightening up, but they moved the ball well against us, and made selfinflicted errors to stop drives, the bigger concern is the inability to stop the run.

I enjoyed the wildcat with Kerley. He looks to be very shifty and running that package could help. The only downside is that they only ran it against the backups.

I also liked that we heard a lot from Kyle Wilson (sack and good coverage) and heard Aaron Maybins name called a couple of times putting pressure on the qb.

Also it seemed as if the screen plays were killing the Jets when the first team was in. Gotta be able to stop those even when they decide to blitz.

Sanchez is a mediocre talent in a run-heavy offense.

I respectfully disagree, we are a bend but dont break defense and it did what it normally does. I also think its preseason so guys arent really playing at full speed now.

My thoughts? The Giants offense can beat up on the Bears defense, but not ours. Says lots imo

Couldnt have said it better. Sanchez looked like crap, but i'd still rather have 60 something yards and a TD, than 150 yds or so and 2 INTs. The D was good i guess, they gave up plenty of yards, but did stop them when it counted. WE GET THE SNOOPY TROPHY.... lame award, for a lame game.

How many more games before we can start blaming all the offensive shortcomings on Schotty?

I got pretty frustrated with Sanchez tonight preseason or not. He's still not going through his progressions properly. No way Giants shitty secondary had everyone covered.
