If we're in another situation like this, with a lead to milk in the 2nd half and Sanchez is hurt, and the potential to still make the playoffs I'd like to see B.Smith put in as QB.

Before everyone freaks out, here is my line of reasoning:

    1. He is not getting shitloads of reps in practice anyhow as a WR-- essentially splitting 3rd WR with Clowney.
    2. With a few snaps a week and just a couple of passing plays, like some ray lucas roll-outs he could complete a pass if needed.
    3. This is essentially a "wildcat" look that would give the opportunity for option plays or QB runs that are much more likely to mix things up and keep the ground game going than anything KC is doing.
    4. He ought to know the routes pretty well already due to his practice time as WR.
    5. It prevents me from having to throw up in my mouth repeatedly from watching Kellen "I've mentally already turned it over" Clemens piss away a game one snap at a time.

    Wildcat.

its the only way i'll accept the Wildcat if the Jets have Sanchez out.

Any other option at QB seems better than KC.

    Clemens....

To me honestly looked like he did 0 to prepare for this game. And that is terrible for a backup QB to come in and look like that...He just looked like he tried to bad news bears the game on himself.

At least we would have a quality runner doing the QB runs. Which is all Clemens was capable of doing for yards.

Whats worst is this guy is supposed to helping Sanchez out a bit and he has no clue with whats going on. Sanchez is really on his own with the coaches developing as a QB. We really have go to get a vet backup next year that can provide some sort of decent example for Sanchez.

How about put receivers on the field so they couldn't stack the box

    Thankyou, I would like Kitna.

But this guy is ONE PLAY AWAY FROM STEPPING IN...And it happened tonight and he looked lost against a bad defense.

Interesting post in that milking a lead is a sure way to lose a close game. I think you should continue to be aggressive and make the defense stop you. Playing not to lose is a dangerous game to play with the team's current situation. A decent offensive team would have won that game. We had our defense out there too long. This strategy worked against the Bills because of the numerous injuries to their offensive line.

Our offense has to start closing games out by getting first downs and not turning over the game to the defense. This should include some critical controlled throws that keep the defense off balance. How many games have we lost in the 4th qtr with our defense under fire and on the field entirely to long?

Agree that the best answer is our offense put teams away. However, if you watched the same game I did, there was no way anything positive was going to come from "letting Kellen Clemens rip" and seeing if the #1 team in the league in INT's would put that wounded hedgehog out of his misery. It was the best call tonight based on how our defense was playing, how the running game was going, and how shitty the backup QB was. Maybe I should have been more specific on the context.

    They were horrible.

    3rd Q, after Sanchez left:

2nd and 6 - 1 WR, rush for no gain
    3rd and 6 - 2 WR, sack
1st and 10 - 1 WR, rush for no gain
    2nd and 10 - 2 WR, rush for 2.5
    1st and 10 - 1 WR, rush for 4
    2nd and 6 - 1 WR, rush for 1
    3rd and 5 - 2 WR, rush for 3 or 4

The only time they moved the ball was with 3+WRs out there.

I certainly hope so. I am just saying use our offense to make our defense stronger by keeping our defense off the field and rested.

Clemens is garbage but let's not lose our fuckin minds now. He is the next best option currently on the roster at QB, not Brad fuckin' Smith. Brad Smith is needed on special teams, see: week 8 vs MIA.

    And 4th Q -

    1st and 10 - 1 WR, rush for -1
    1st and 10 - 1 WR, covered, KC rushes for 7
    2nd and 3 - 1 WR, rush for 2
    3rd and 1 - no WR, rush for 1
2nd and 10 - 1 WR, rush for no gain
3rd and 10 - 1 WR, KC bootleg for no gain

Then on the last possession, Jones broke through for the big gain.

    "Great", my ass.

    I don't understand it.

I think he must have completely given up after Favre was brought in.

Ok, I know which plays you're referring to.

In that random collection of short gains, we had two very silly pass plays, one of which created second and short, a third and short run for a first down and three burnt Buffalo time outs. That's what a power formation will do for you.
