Good....TJ is under contract....and has no business holding out. He knows deep down that he's replaceable and basically has no leverage.

I wonder when that $15,000/day fine starts up. Leon can't really afford too many of those with his current salary.

I presume the one guy who shows up with a Feely top will "win" every day. If there is one.

I'm not sure they can waive the penalty, but they'd likely find a way to balance it out.

No surprises that TJ made it into camp. He made it clear that he wouldn't be missing any practices when he ended his little fit several weeks ago.

so did leon. its funny how much shit was talked about the guy who lead the league in rushing while when a guy who really hasnt proven himself actually HOLDS OUT people hope he gets to camp and joke and kid about things.

amazing the double standards around here.

and i feel as though they both are under contract but it is within their rights to feel they are worth more and lobby for it. i have no problem with any player trying to make more money.

Entirely different situations. TJ has already earned $13 million over the first two years of his contract. He signed a front loaded deal. The only reason he's upset is that he's due $900k and will likely be a contract casualty in the offseason. After that, he's free to sign with whomever he wants once he's cut. Leon won't reach that situation. He's outearned the $1.5 million he's been paid thus far. He's due another $500k, and then he can be kept on the roster an additional season with no significant pay raise, which is NOT something he signed on for. It's an unfortunate consequence of a capless 2010. You're telling me the situations are comparable?

I love it when alleycat shows his ignorance. It's like he's waving a giant flag.

Not for anything, but I can't even imagine making $900,000.00 a year. It even looks obscene. We're always so used to hearing "millions", but when you type it out, even $535,000.00 looks unbelievably crazy.

Washington is reported on the field now by Sportsline.

    9:00 ET

Jets RB Leon Washington is on the field. He didn't report with the rest of the team yesterday. Looks like a new deal is in place or at least close.

    Oh..here's a better link.

    http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/12007127

CORTLAND, N.Y. (AP) -New York Jets running back Leon Washington has reported to the team and was on the field for the first practice of training camp.

Washington was a no-show when the rest of the team checked into the players' dormitory Thursday because of a contract dispute in which he's seeking a big raise. A Pro Bowl selection last season as a kick returner, Washington took part in drills at the start of Friday's first practice.

It wasn't immediately known if a deal was reached between the Jets and Washington.

Washington, due to earn $535,000 this season, is in the final year of his rookie deal and is believed to be looking for about $6 million a year.

With Washington at SUNY Cortland, the Jets now have all of their players at camp.
