    Very nice pickup RT.

    On the achilles, it can sometimes be an ongoing injury that can take months to heal. Not something that would keep him out of the games, but a strained achilles can often take ages, and could be a niggling injury for a while.

    If it really isn't that bad then he just needs to stay off it and treat it accordingly. The offseason was plenty of time to rest a strained tendon so I don't think it was lingering. So the rest is actually therapy. Plenty of time before NE. :)

    But if it was a slight te_r (no jinx) that would be different. Because from what I read that could cause a calf strain as well. Hope thats not the case.

    Some info on Achilles strains;

    Healing times are usually 2 to 10 days for a mild strain, 10 days to 6 weeks for a moderate strain, or 6 to 10 weeks for a severe strain. Repeated injuries may take longer to heal and are more prone to complications.

    How to Treat an Achilles Tendon Injury

    If you look after this injury early enough you should make a good recovery. It is important you rehabilitate the tendon properly after it has recovered or the injury will return. If you ignore the early warning signs and do not look after this injury then it may become chronic which is very difficult to treat.

    Achilles Tendonitis

    Achilles strains are the bane of many runners. This is a common sporting injury that can often become chronic and prevent any form of running. Running needs to be ceased for 7-14 days depending on the severity of the injury with a gradual increase to normal training.

    Thank god we have Leon washington! I can at least breath easier if this turns into an all year injury.
