Well I'm going to have to start off by taking back what I said about Jones, he may be past his prime, but after watching this game I realized he's still got it in him. I began to see that it hasen't been Jones' fault for his inconsistancy but more the Offensive lines suspect run blocking.

It was stupid of me to shit on Jones, he led the AFC last year and now that I got off the O-lines dick I see that they could be better run blockers, except for Moore, he's a fucking animal at run blocking. I really saw it today when our run game progressed during the second half when Houstons D began to wear out. Everyone I was watching the game with today was even noticing our run game was pretty shitty in the beginning.

I still love our O-line, I was a bit biased because I was just so fucking excited we had a solid O-line, the pass protection is just so tight.

I give total props to Jones and I was proud to rock his jersey today. Now the other thing I'm falling in love with, with this team is what seems like at first during this game and the preseason Giants game was the fact we seemed pretty shitty on offense and defense. But as the game goes on the opposing team begins to tire and our boys just seems to brush it off and keep on rolling as if they just started the game fresh.

I guess Rex is doing some crazy conditioning with the boys. This team never seems to get tired at all through the game and I fuckin love it. Maybe I got it all wrong but either way if we keep playing hard the whole game, teams are going to gas out and shit their pants.

The penalties need to stop though, this is my only real qualm!!

    GO JETS

It takes balls to admit that.

I'm a HUGE TJ supporter and know what he's capable of...

You're talking about the only guy behind LT in rushing the last 3 years...
The Leader in the AFC Last year
    Picking up Key bllitzers
    Signing autographs and extra appearances
all this while unhappy with his contract.

The Guy is a PRO. Hands down, but for JETS fans if they don't do what they can do in MADDEN
    or
if they ain't Adrian Peterson or Barry Sanders then they Suck and need to be replaced.

the O-Line does Dictate the Running game. Look at todays game. They had No answers for the TEXANS through 3Q's.
But, They kept wearing them down as did TJ.

They totally did, both Lines were wearing down their counterparts and kept on truckin through, which is why I'm calling them the rope-a-dopin Jets, they look like they are getting beat at first and then they unleash hell.

I agree...but TJ is past his prime to make any more HUGE Coin, but not past his prime to be a big-time player. TJ has made plenty of money....it just ain't happening again.

TJ is a class act and nobody on the Jets works harder than Thomas Jones.

They never looked like they were getting beaten on either side of the ball.

Which I can agree with but I'm not going to HATE the guy for trying to get more $$$ Especially if it isn't affecting the team.

Basically, It was time to play and he strapped em on. No bitchin'.
When teams cut players when it's time to pay em...oh "It's a Business" but when a player does it he gets the scarlet letter.

    But as you said,
"TJ is a class act and nobody on the Jets works harder than Thomas Jones"

I ain't gonna hate on that!

He's 31. I'll admit that I was looking at him fish-eyed before he broke the first long-gainer. He probably wouldn't have broken that either if the defense was not worn out from being on the field as much as they were.

I'll go against the grain here and say I expect that we've seen the best he can do this year and if he keeps getting the number of carries he got today we're going to be a lot less happy with him by the midpoint of the season.

Tee...............TJ isn't flashy, isn't the quick strike ,like Leon, he is steady , calm, and does everything you need to win a football game. Everyone expects Leon to have a big year, TJ may just fool some Jet fans.

The first quarter they didn't look to good, The offense wasen't moving well and Houston was moving the ball decently in the first half and then like I said we unleashed hell on them.

    Hold on hold on.

TJ only got good runs after Houston's defense was broken down from being on the field all game. Take away those two huge runs his YPC avg is under 3.5

im not trying to hate but the run game was very poor before Houstons D got tired.

    Believe me, I know TJ.
Check my fantasy teams the last 6 years! lol...

Like I said, I know what he's capable of.
But just to respond, he's quicker than you think and his small shifts is what makes people miss.
He Hits the holes and has enough speed to break it and that's the type of back I like here. Curtis was the same way.

One great thing about the NFL, you don't get to "take away" plays. They all happened for a reason. TJ was contained for most of the game but was part of the reason the defense was worn down, even if the numbers didn't show it.

It seems like 90% of the arguments against TJ start with "take way that play and ..."

TJ reminds me of slightly more ripped version of Curtis Martin.

Martin was consistent and always had the numbers just did very unassumingly.

TJ just hasn't done it the amount of years Curtis did.

You can't take away plays from the stat book. But you have to take out anomalies to properly analyze something.

and he had no part in running them down?
Sorry but that's the NFL. It takes the O-Line and RB's a FULL Game sometimes to break through. This was a perfect example of that.

Give me a break, Barry Sanders woulda sucked statistically if you did that!

That's the mentality that is just FOS. What, He didn't run the other times?

To take away his big runs at the End is ridiculous and unfair and kinda shows the asinine hateful mentality towards JETS fans and their Players...

Agreed, TJ didn't look amazing, but he had to break out runs when the O-line opened up some nice holes for him and he put the game away, like I said before the O-line is nothing special in run blocking so you got to cut TJ and Leon some slack.

Actually TJ really didn't have a substantial role in wearing the D down. The offensive line and scrambling Sanchez did. Houston D chasEd him around all game and they were on the field a lot. That's how they got tired.

Thats what I liked about TJ he was similar to Martin to the fact that he wasen't the fastest or most agile back in the league but he shed tackles like a fuckin monster, TJ's getting old now so he's lost a bit of power, but he's still good.
