Do you feel more confident about beating the Pats this year or were you more confident about beating the Pats this time last year? This may be more obvious than I think, but I'm really curious as to the answer by the forum. I think the reason why it could be this year is because of the coach. I think last year the only doubts we had about beating the Pats was that whether Mangini could get it done. I think for more me I was more confident last year, but I knew in the back of my mind if anyone can screw it up it was Mangini. This year I think the real key is on offense specifically with Schotty. He doesn't have to have Sanchez win it. Get the ball in Leon washington's hands and get passing plays to Keller. Without Mayo these guys can tear up the Pats D. Thoughts?
I voted honestly, right now I feel a little skeptical with Sanchez. Don't get me wrong I stand behind Sanchez all the way but for some reason I feel he might struggle against the Pats this weekend. I pray to god I'm wrong.
last year we were expected to win, favre was our qb and a unknown was the pats qb making his first nfl start.. We were favored to win that game.. Last year aI felt more confident, just use common sense
i think we were favored last year The Pats almost lost to the Chiefs with Matt Cassel when Brady went down. I think we all expected to win. so i'll say last year. but we're a better football team then we were last year. and we have a better coach. and we have a better defense. but it's still tom brady.
Two words: Richard Seymour If Seymour was gone last year, Jets would have had no problem punching in from the goal line in the first game. Easy win from that moment on.
Coming off the big win last year and the pats main defensive players gone, We have more faith and should stomp these fucks.
Last year I was sure we'd win each Pats game as it came up. This year I think we're 2nd favourites until we prove otherwise.
Seymour's gone. Mayo's out. Adaleius Thomas injured and a possible out. We should hopefully run on them hard all day.
You know what? For some reason, when I first saw this poll, my initial reaction was to say this year (purely out of excitement) and so I voted that way. However, after I gave it a moment's thought, I realized that with Brady back and the Jets starting a rookie at the same position I am probably a little less confident this year. But I still go back and forth. I need to see another few games before I am convinced that our dominant defensive performance of last week wasn't somehwhat of an abberation. I suspect that it wasn't an abberation and that we really are that good, but I still need to see more before I can be certain.
Watching how our defense played last week against Houston gives me a lot of confidence going into this week's match up. I've been waiting a long while now to see the Jets play that kind of aggressive kick ass defense. We do that against the Pats and we got as good a shot as any of beating them.
Last year I felt more confident because I wasen't afraid of their D last year, only Tom Brady and he went down and I had no doubt in my mind that we wouldn't win, and then it came the offense was outta tune and we lost shit happens and I was furious, this year its iffy for me because if that offense really starts clicking we are going to need to play nearly flawless on Defense.
I'm assuming this is for how we felt for last year's Week 2 game? Honestly I was more confident last year because of Favre + No Brady. Now we've got Sanchez, but, there is still Brady. However, it seems to me we already have a much better Defense, I mean, that is completely obvious. I'd say I'm split even, but I gave the edge to last year since it was Cassel's first start.
With the PAts defense seemingly declining and ours looking to be beastly, I feel more confident this year than last.
I've gotta say this year theres a bit more confidence. Yes they have Brady back, but that defense looks suspect. Seeing how the Bills pushed them to the limit and how we manhandled a top 10 Offense last week, i gotta say im expecting nothing less then a victory this week
Sanchez will be under a great deal of pressure (mentally) this week. he is coming off an outstanding performance on the road for a rookie QB. He may feel the need to force things a bit and commit some costly mistakes. I hope none of this is true, and he realizes he has a great backfield tandem to mix things up with. Last year we had that old bastard QB that, no matter how much I didn't like him, could pull wins and great games out of his ass.
I'm gonna say that I feel a little better this year. Our D has the potential to be down right scary this year. NE has lost a ton of defensive players from last year. I guarantee our offense will score more than ten points this time. Then again, there still is the Brady factor, but I think our D is up for the challenge.
