10 possessions for the offense to work. 6 points scored by the offense.
Not to mention his rating-- he just wasn't sharp all day--really floating ("aiming") his throws. Many are probably bitching about the playcalling but the playcalling wasn't as bad as the execution. Chad had Coles and McCareins twice open deep and just plain missed them. One, Coles was lucky to get for a reception but it should have been a TD if thrown accurately and with authority. D stood up nicely after a very poor 1st half (and a series). But overall only gave up 20 points on 10 Cleveland possessions, with 3 of those possessions coming after turnovers. Again, I put this one squarely on the "O" in general and Chad in particular. Hope the bye week gives them 2 weeks to stew on this stinker and come back and play angry against NE.

Chad did have a bad game, but you can't blame him on the whole game. This is a team sport, therefore when the team loses, the whole team is to blame for not getting the job done to get a win at the end of the game.

This shit was all mental and we all know it. The Browns were in his head. He needs to learn how to deal with his mistakes.

While Pennington was bad, it was not "all" on him. The defense was horrible HORRIBLE for 3 quarters against one of the worst offenses in the NFL. The Jet defense makes every opponent's running back look like Walter Payton.

And, Pennington led the Jets to the tying score at the end of the game. That pass to Baker was a TD. So how about placing part of the blame on the Jet defense, part on the referees, part on Leon Washington for an inexcusable fumble, and part on Pennington.

That works for me. I place some parts on the coaches, too.

Pennington may have had the worst game of his career, worse than the Oakland and Jaguar game...

His passes were bad, floating, missing targets, ugh...

Now, I don't wanna even see a thread on Kellen Clemens, that'd be stupid. But Chad was horrible without a doubt.

This ones on the QB and the run defense.

I will give you that Chad's 2nd pick was one of the worst passes I have ever seen. He may have gotten bumped slightly, but that was a balloon, and the receiver was wide open. It was like a duck that hung up in the wind. That was embarrassing, but so was our run defense (D Rob to name one)

If anything, Chad is a mentally tough QB.

He had a tipped pass interception and then was trying to not take a sack, so I don't think he was affected by the mistakes.

Rather his play was atrocious. His passes at times weren't even close.

I still think this team will not get to the SB with Chad Pennington at QB. He just doesnt have that "IT". He stinks in crucial situations and our receivers usually win games for him. I hate to say this but i dont think kellen clemens is that great either hes very very erratic and just not good. Things just dont look that good for the jets.

There were so many things wrong with this game. Chad definitely deserves a good share of blame, but the team in general (including the coaches) just wasn't very good today. Poor playcalls, poor passing, sloppy tackling, pussy run defense, swiss cheese secondary, horrible kickoffs, stupid penalties, etc.

I don't think he was today. The look in his eyes.... He was lost.

Like I said, he has been off for three weeks. I am not one to get all excited about bad play and start speculating, but what is going on with him?

At least Chad isn't using the refs as a scapegoat. During the post-game interview, he said he shouldn't have let it come down to that one play and basically that he sucked it up bad.

How do you know Clemens isn't that good? I love you people who trash players without them even playing

They scored 20 points 7 off of the first INT. The D stepped up over and over again in the 4th quarter. Pennington missed a wide open Coles for a TD in the 4th he was awful tonight. This lose was not on the D.

The loss was not on the D...

But when the worst offense in the NFL, and a guy averaging like 50 yards a game rushing busts open for 125?

And the numerous times Frye had about 8 seconds to throw on these dumbass 3 man rushes with no pressure at all...It's sickening.

Notice how when Sutton or Mangini went to the blitz!! Jeez enough of these 3 man rushes against 5-6 OLineman!!

every time we had momentum, Chad gave it away with a critical screwup.

    agree 100% with this post.

You're right, the loss wasn't on the D. It was on the QB, Leon Washington, the coaching staff AND the defense. And if you're going to knock Pennington for today (which you have every right to do because he was terrible), don't point to an INT which wasn't even his fault. Point to the 2nd INT when the ball flew came out of his hand spinning like a field goal kick, or making some awful passes when guys were open today.

But also keep in mind he made a hell of a play to Baker...even though it was all for nothing. Baker made one amazing catch, but credit Chad for buying time and making a perfect throw.

we all know our defense sucks. (well,i saw some capability in the 4th,and i'm alittle mad that i haven't seen more of it) but we knew our defese sucks coming into this game and it's been our offense to carry us. Chad put up a shit game today. His throws were horrible,he looked like he was playing after being out drinking all night or playing woth a 105 fever or something. we got 6 points from the strong point of our team. The play calling was bad,but the execution was worse.

    For sure...

We ALL love Brad Smith...His elusiveness and playmaking ability...But Schotty got way too cute with him today, WAAAAAAAY too cute.

I believe he was called into four 3rd down plays, most of it being a 3rd and 5 or less...And only executing 1.

The opening drive one I was okay with, bad call though. The one where he and Leon had a mixup I assume was atrocious. And the 3rd miscue I cannot recall unless 3 were called and he only got 1 of the 3rd down conversions.
