Wow. The guy took them to the playoffs last year from nowhere and they're ready to dump him after one game because he's not good enough to do more than manage the game for them and perform at the team's overall level. I had no clue Fin fans knew that much about football.
Chad has everything but the arm. I watched some of it towards the end. 4 yard passes down 19-0 with 5 minutes left would anger anyone.
I really can't believe that Parcells and Sparano allowed him to win the QB competition in camp after what they saw in the playoff game last year. This is elemental physics: a QB who cannot stretch the field effectively gets overpowered by pressure defenses that can take away the area that he actually can reach effectively in a couple of seconds. This has been Chad's MO since the second shoulder surgery. He really cannot manage the game against a pressure defense. He was iffy before that against them but he's close to hopeless now. I'm thinking the first game against us may be his last start in the NFL. Rex Ryan is going to do what he's done against him in the past and put on so much pressure that he's dumping the ball off endlessly and failing to move the chains effectively. The irony is that he may well go like 25-34 for 270 yards while the Fins are scoring 13 points. Ryan did that to him twice in 2008.
Can Miami beat the Jets this year with Chad at QB? No shot I would say. How about with Henne or White? No shot I would say. Haha.
They were pretty livid yesterday. They wanted Chad benched and Fasano cut this morning. They also made a thread saying how they hated that the Texans lay an egg when they play the Jets, but look like a team fighting for a WC spot when they play the Dolphins. One good thing is, some Dolphins fans said our defense was tremendous yesterday. One I quote saw said, "Their defense was on them like white on rice". Another individual went on to post something along the lines of...I fear the Jets defense will really look a lot like the Baltimore defense. All these things went on to bring a smile to my face. Fuck the Dolphins.
There were a few posters over there complaining about Ginn being wide open downfield and Chad choosing to just dump it off instead. Replace Ginn with Moss and you have Jets fans circa 2004.
...on a side note, my finfan buddy said Henne is looking really good. He'll probably be starting by halfway thru the season once they figure out they're going nowhere.
Haha, I just looked for myself. The funniest part of Finheaven is that its slogan is "Go Deep". If it were any other team, I wouldn't be nearly as convinced that they were talking about gay sex.
i had to laugh when a stat came across while I was watching the game Pennington 4/4 15yds lol said to myself.....that's about right
This doesn't make any sense to me! Chad worked on his throwing motion all off-season. Re-evaluating his mechanics was supposed to give him more throwing power. This game must have been a fluke...
Someone over there made a point that I completely forgot about; they chose Culpepper over Brees back in 2006. Phew!
I don't get how a team that saw pennington for a decade is shocked at what he's limited at doing. Or was it because he beat their ass almost every time he faced them as a Jet?? My Fin fan friends thanked me for Chad after they beat the Jets in the last week of the season. I told them "you obviously don't know Chad Pennington" and now they hate him. Its funny to watch people with less knowledge than you. Its like watching ants run around.
That site is full of retards, I tried to read it last night and got a headache Their opinion of Matt Ryan was hilarious..."he didn't play like a franchise QB"
