with all the people we are looking at, and our high draft choice, and all the negotiations - i think the jets could have a very good season next year. after we went 4-12 last year i thought there was no chance in hell the club could improve. lets just hope the jets could trade abraham for a good deal that would emerge the jets over the top. i like the way things are working, because we have alot to work with this year.
I agree completely. This is our year. I dont want to trade abraham though, hes one of the best at his position, i think hes worth a long term contract.
This isnt our year. Its a rebuilding year. We will give the Pats & Dolphins some trouble though, and we'll compete in a lot of games. My guess is 7-9 best.
as of now we are a 2-14 team. We have no offensive line, no qb, no rb, no te and no DT. The good news is theres still time to improve in the draft. The only varaible is if the team comes back healthy next year and returns to its 2004 form.
If we get Schaub from Atlanta an he starts from game one, we will have a good year. If we insist on playing musical chairs at QB this year we will suck.
If the Jets get Schaub, they will suck again. I can't take a QB with that surname and a 49.3 career completion percentage seriously.
He did have one really good game last year... vs the Pats, no wonder Mangini might be in love.... Of course, Shaub had that game against the Mangini Patriot defense.. which ranked 31st in the NFL in pass defense. http://www.nfl.com/stats/teamsort/NFL/DEF-PASSING/2005/regular I thought Mangini was supposed to be this brilliant defensive coach and especially brilliant in scheming pass defenses... Record doesn't match the hype.
To defend Mangini's defense...when you're such a great run stuffing D teams tend to pass alot more because their run game is ineffective. Plus without Harrison and a few of their starters it's easier to pass on them. Not defending the Patriots because I really don't like them but our problem last year was stopping the run and that opens up the passing game...Don't let the numbers fool you.
Lmao. Some people are just hopless. We are not a contender this year. An 8-8 season at this point is a luxury.
Bigger Jet fan then you will ever be. A year from now you'll be off the bandwagon. And the Jets will be a year closer to doing things the right way if Woody Sells the team or Tagliabue forces the Jets to hire an experienced professional before the franchise becomes the Detroit Lions. And geez could you at least wait until the plane lands in Jonestown before taking the Kool-Aid.
Going 8-8 would be like a SuperBowl run for this team. That is to be expected during rebuilding. RobA I love your enthusiasm but... Next year is really just open tryouts for Mangini to see what he is working with.
The following is a list of teams we play in 06: Buffalo (2), Miami (2), New England (2), Houston, Indianapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Oakland, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Green Bay, Minnesota, Cleveland....There is no reason why we shouldn't beat GB, Cleveland, Minn., Oakland, Houston, Buffalo atleast once, Miami atleast once, Detroit, and Jacksonville or Tennessee if not both, so I say 9-7 or 10-6....our D is going to be awesome and the coahes will get our O in order. Just last year people were picking us to go to the superbowl before all the injuries....We'll shock alot of peolpe next year including our own fans. J-E-T-S! JETS! JETS! JETS!
