Our avg points scored in those games is 6.....so we lose a low scoring game in november or december almost every year since 1988. I don't understand.
The point is that in 24 of the past 31 seasons the Jets have tanked a late season game and usually several others on top of it. Just like this year. Thats the point. But, you know what, screw you guys. All I try to do is share something and all I get is shit.
The regular season starts... I do think of the Jets and the Colts as early season teams. They might get off to a great start, but tend to stumble. With the Colts, injuries are often involved. With the Jets, I'm not sure what it is. I'm not so sure how to change such a culture, but I don't think it prudent to try to go all out for the full season. By the time the games start to count, there isn't any gas left in the tank. The Patriots have a saying that 'the regular season starts after Thanksgiving.' Then again, they have never won anything without a first round bye, so you have to win a lot of games before Thanksgiving. What does it take to be winners in December?
I get what he means. The team loses an important game in November or December and then loses most of the games the rest of the way. This franchise has a history of not doing well in the colder months, which is odd because they are a cold weather city. All I see are a bunch of teams that were mediocre as hell, because that's what this franchise is, mediocre.
I don't exactly see the connection to the Phins game in particular, but it is interesting to note how consistently poorly the Jets end their seasons. I think the point is just to show why so many Jet fans have a horrible sinking feeling after this loss regardless of the fact that we're still very alive statistically... because we've seen them collapse in December SO many times before.
Relevance is what has killed "SOJ" In the last 12 years this team has been relevant and winning football games. They do put up stinkers, but nothing that other teams haven't done. I love the fact that this team hasn't had a total breakdown of shit since I've been a serious fan of this team.
Wow..the haters are out in full force. I get what the original poster is getting at. this team has been playing flat conservative football after Thanksgiving for decades. After awhile...it becomes very draining on die hards. Will this year be any different? Who knows..
