Porter went on to make light of the Mark Sanchez hot dog incident that has blown up in the national media, saying, "I'm not really worried about him eating hot dogs on the sideline. I'm trying to worry about how I can get him on the sideline. Maybe with an ice pack or something."
That's pushing it. Maybe we could title this thread "Ultmate respect for Henne" and put Scott's qoute in there.
Right, Porter made a comment about an icepack, Scott outright said that he wanted to knock Henne out of the game. That was uncalled for.
Agreed. But it does emphasize just how much that loss is still stinging. If the defense steps up and stuffs the wildcat, this game shouldn't even be close. If not...
No it wasn't. If I am a DC I want my players thinking and talking this way. He stopped short of saying that he wanted to delibrately hurt him. A hard hit (See Edwards) will take him out.
The Jets will look pretty silly if they lose again on Sunday. I absolutely love the attitude, but at the same time this is as much of a must win game as I can remember in the past 15 years at this point in the season. This is do or die for the Jets.
I'm glad you brought up the Edwards hit. That was a pretty dirty play by Pace, he twisted Trent Edwards' head around and should have been called for unnecessary roughness at least.
If they want our QB out of the game, that means they're afraid of him. Rightly so, considering how he lit them up.
Seriously? I thought it was the hit from Harris that knocked him out.
Gus, watch the replay that you just posted. Harris came in at the end of the play, you can clearly see Pace (97) twisting his helmet to the side and then throwing him head-first to the ground. The 'hit' that you're talking about happens when Harris' knee lands on Edwards' helmet at the end of the play.
Seriously, that was a 3 second play and Pace was trying to bring him down. He hit him high, that's not dirty that is football. Ive seen people do more and if it was such a dirty play why wasn't he penalized or fined?
Assuming the play wasn't already blown dead (which can't be proven either way from the given replay), you can't blame Pace for trying to bring Edwards down.
Because it wasn't Tom Brady or Peyton Manning? Seriously, the Jets have gotten away with a lot of late hits/questionable stuff this season. I'm not going to complain about the non-calls, but I'm also not going to play the homer role and pretend they didn't happen either. Football is football, but the calls should be the same across the board if it's going to be penalized. The dirty part of the Pace play is where he twists the QB's head around, and most of us would be screaming our heads off if we saw someone do it to Sanchez, so spare me the bullshit.
Our fan base got pissed with the hit in Oakland Morrison put on Sanchez when he dropped on the fumble. Of course they would be pissed.
Sure thing pal, and when I do, it won't be similar to a PFT article where the title completely misleads the reader as to what the substance will be.
Wanting an opposing team's QB out of the game more or less IS the ultimate respect. I'm sorry you got your hopes up, but I'm glad I crushed them with this tiny little post...pal.
