Both sides being “bad” in no way equates to being neutral being the reasonable position in a conflict that has real world implications.

Imagine what the US would do if roles were reversed?!

Hilarious to see people defend this.

Let me guess, Russia is the "bad guy" so its ok (Meanwhile the US has bombed and invaded so many countries in the last two decades)

NATO told Russia in the 90s "Not an inch to the east"..............ok:

Which of the countries on the map has the United States forced into NATO or bombed and invaded?

    How hard is to understand?

NOT AN INCH TO THE EAST

Take off your goggles and realize they lied.

A neutral nation deciding to join nato, is different than them being forced into by invasion.

Ok but if NATO told Russia they wouldn't move an inch to the east then the those Nations wouldn't be able to join.

Regardless Putin was patient for the last 20 years while NATO moved closer and closer when they said they wouldn't.

Its shocking to me, that people cant just be unbias and realize there is something wrong with that. This picture being painted that Russia invaded Ukraine just for the hell of it is completely wrong.

I don’t even know what that means but that doesn’t answer my question.

The political fate of a nation should be decided by its people. Doesn’t matter what we told Putin, or what he thinks.

Can you show me anything that displays a western leader or NATO ally making that claim? Anything at all that isn’t Putin saying it for almost two decades with no basis.

    H
e didn’t invade for the hell of it nor is that the narrative. But he can provide justification for his invasion all he wants and that doesn’t change the fact that he invaded a sovereign free country and is actively committing war crimes.

A little research instead of just reposting what you found on bitcoin websites would help keep you from looking the fool. Truthful, rational, outstandingly logical and learned

    FORMER SOVIET PRESIDENT GORBACHEV’S VIEW

We now have a very authoritative voice from Moscow confirming this understanding. Russia behind the Headlines has published an interview with Gorbachev, who was Soviet president during the discussions and treaty negotiations concerning German reunification. The interviewer asked why Gorbachev did not “insist that the promises made to you [Gorbachev]—particularly U.S. Secretary of State James Baker’s promise that NATO would not expand into the East—be legally encoded?” Gorbachev replied: “The topic of ‘NATO expansion’ was not discussed at all, and it wasn’t brought up in those years. … Another issue we brought up was discussed: making sure that NATO’s military structures would not advance and that additional armed forces would not be deployed on the territory of the then-GDR after German reunification. Baker’s statement was made in that context… Everything that could have been and needed to be done to solidify that political obligation was done. And fulfilled.”

Gorbachev continued that “The agreement on a final settlement with Germany said that no new military structures would be created in the eastern part of the country; no additional troops would be deployed; no weapons of mass destruction would be placed there. It has been obeyed all these years.” To be sure, the former Soviet president criticized NATO enlargement and called it a violation of the spirit of the assurances given Moscow in 1990, but he made clear there was no promise regarding broader enlargement.

He's just a moron parroting things he read on bitcoin websites. It was East Germany that they promised not to expand into after reunification, not all of Eastern Europe..

I can't believe we have idiots here defending a dictatorship invading a democracy. Ukraine wants to be part of the west. We should help them into modern times.

So Nato moving east gives them the right to invade a non-Nato nation? Come on.
