If you ever find yourself running a professional baseball organization, and are faced with the prospect of making a change at manager, the New York Yankees are the gold standard example to follow.

Being that the Yankees are the world wide leader in professional professionalism and class, pay careful attention to the professional classy way they're treating Joe Torrie.

No move is more classy then telling someone they wont have a job if they lose a game, then hanging them out to dry for weeks by not telling them if you actually meant it when you said they wouldn't have a job if they lost.

Professional organizations have days of meetings, widely reported on by the press, in which they discuss the managers fate....and don't in fact decide anything at all.

The longer you hang a guy out to dry who's give you 12+ years of his life, and 4 world championships, the more it shows how much you respect him.

There is a reason why the Yankees are the platinum gold standard when it comes to professional classy professionalism in pro sports. Other teams around the league would be smart to observe them and learn.

No problem, I'm just awed by the classy professional manner the most classy professional sports franchise in the history of sports franchises operates.

If only the Wilpons ran the Mets this way.

Ok, so you are saying they should have just fired him because he lost that game, right?

What if they are thinking about bringing him back but haven't yet figured out in what capacity or at what price?

What if that is the reason Cashman is flying back to NY right now? Maybe to discuss it with him.

You wouldn't want to see any of that. It is your opininon they should have just held a news conference and said that asshole is out of here.

Please tell me where you got your class from.

What does the country of origin of the players have anything to do with the way the Yankees have been letting Joe Torre twist in the wind for over a week?

On top of the rest of your ridiculous opinion on this, he hasn't been twisting at all. He is free to get any job he wants. His contract is finished.

There's really no question here. The Yankees should have announced they have decided not to bring Torre back as manager almost as soon as the playoffs ended. What they are instead doing is humiliating for Torre and pretty classless, regardless of what you think about the Mets front office and ownership.

You're as bad as he is. What if they ARE bringing him back? Doesn't that even enter your mind?

This post makes zero sense, and I'm a Mets fan. Joe Torre has been treated like gold by the Yankees. They've paid him more than what any other manager makes for years and year. His contract is up, and he hasn't won with the highest payroll for the last seven years, It just so happens they don't know WHAT they wanna do yet. They're allowed. They own the team. Torre was an employee. They're deciding now if they want him back and he's just gonna have to wait. Period. That's not classless in any way. It's a tough decision and it really hasn't been that long. It's been 4 baseball games later as of tonight. Big deal.

Thanks....I supported Chad thru thick and thin. There is only so much a man can take. The Philly game was the final straw.
