The fourth option is the only option really. Conklin is good enough to thrive in an offense with a good QB. Best we can do is find some reclamation project for a year/$2 million at the bottom of free agency to be TE2/3. One that preferably plays special teams effectively.

So with that being said we’ll probably go give Robert Tonyan a 3 year/$24 million deal because Rodgers.

I like Conklin enough as the versatile #2 who can move all over the field. Bawden is improving but they could easily save a roster spot and give Conk those FB reps.

Does that TE to FB really work though?

I think Conklin is a solid TE, what do we think about Ruckert? Yeboah??

Yeah it's called the H-back position. Joe Gibbs was pretty good at using it.

I don't think we can afford to spend any resources on the position. It is not a major need because we have some talent and some potential there, so I think the best option would be to run back what we've got, minus Uzomah, who has been a colossal disappointment. I really like Conklin and Ruckert has shown flashes of real ability.

Uzomah would be fine if he was making like $2mil/year, but he's a goner. I do like Conklin a lot as our TE1. Underrated IMO and would be better with better QB play. Ruckert should definitely be TE2 but some depth is probably needed. Not sure if Yeboah has shown enough to be TE3. A cheaper vet who can block and contribute on special teams would be ideal

I’m also on the boat of it’s fine and we have much bigger fish to fry

I’d roll back Conklin and Ruckert as #2, and then pick up a third guy somewhere, whether it’s Yeboah or some other low cost vet, but I would not put any significant resources here…agreed Uzomah should be gone…way overpaid

That’s why some mock drafts that show us considering Brock Bowers at 10 sound so out of touch to me…if we stay at 10, that pick HAS to be OL or WR. If not then it should be a trade down.

TE is fine…Conklin is pretty good and would be much better with someone like AR behind center…

The last option IMHO is the best beacsue it elevates Rucket while Keeping Conklin. Botha are good b;lockesr and I believe Rucker will be a better receiver with more playing time.

    My opinion

    1. Cut Uzomah--One of Douglas' many free agent busts, compounded by foolishly restructuring his contract last offseason (WHY????).
    2. Don't draft a TE in 2024
    3. Play Conklin and Ruckert mostly
    4. Try Kuntz as TE3--what do the jets have to lose? Yeboah has been around awhile and is mostly just potential.
