Hey guys, (Mods, please feel free to delete this if it's not allowed...I don't see anything in the rules about it) Woody Johnson's Twitter handle is woodyjohnson4. He does check it. As fans, we should do as much as we can to have influence--it's free to speak our minds on social media and it's one way of expressing the opinions of the fan base that literally pays the teams salary. With that said, I would ask that you would consider using your twitter account (or opening a Twitter if you don't have one) and tagging Woody in one tweet a day asking him to do what's necessary to get the first pick in the draft. All you have to do, for those that aren't tech savvy, is @woodyjohnson4 and write something regarding why losing week 17 is what you want. Use your own words. We know Woody cares what the public perception is and we should use the resources that are available. Let your friends know about it. I will be tweeting him EVERYDAY up until week 17. At least I did what I could do and I'm asking everyone on here to do the same. Let's not let them get away with the status quo--we deserve better. JET UP and TANK ON!
Guys. Can we grow up with this let's get the owners attention stuff? They don't care. They're making money hand over fist. A bunch of dopes on Twitter aren't going to convince them to do anything otherwise. Enough already.
I refuse to have this mentality--the fans are the ones who support the team. Billionaires can lose face as well. If everyone on TGG made one short Tweet a day and expressed their opinions you would be surprised how much of a difference it could make. I've always believed that you control what you can control.
If you believe the last sentence of your post then you'd understand that you have zero control over any of this even with some compliance from other people. They don't care what you think. They have a building full of professional football people that they don't listen to at times. What makes you think they're going to listen to you and 500 other fans on Twitter?
I respectfully disagree with you JV-- TGG is a place that Jets fans and columnist come to and is one place where you can take a litmus test of the views of the fan base. It's clear that all of us want the same thing here--we should at least express that view in the strongest way possible and hope it comes through what the columnist are writing and what the team is feeling. If you follow the writers and analysts, they acknowledge this is the case now and we truly don't want wins. At the least, if the team wins week 17 they should know how truly pathetic it is that their only win of the year came vs. a sad NE team at the expense of future wins and being competitive.
It's beyond embarrassing, it's bad enough being a fan of this team, but far more embarrassing to see what the fanbase dose Jesus Christ
