Enough is enough already. They should get somebody else to write for the team if the current one can't be fair about what he saw while watching the game. Surprising my ass they plated well the entire game. http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2012/09/jets_vs_bills_film_review_brea.html#incart_river_default
You've decided the entire article is unfair because the word surprising is in the headline? The starting offense didn't score a preseason touchdown. There's nothing slanted about calling a 48 point outburst a surprise.
I don't think there was a person watching that game that wasn't surprised about the domination the Jets displayed against Buffalo.
Too many people think that just because these writers are the hometown guys that everything written should be roses. Some writers seem to have an agenda but you have to remember that just because you were biasedly waiting to fire away with your "I told you so's" doesn't mean that the general perception was that the Jets could hang a 48 spot on the Bills. Get over yourself.
It was actually a complimentary article. The only reason this thread exists is because of the word 'surprising' in the headline, which the writer doesn't even come up with.
I wasn't surprised. I knew the Jets would be playing with a chip on their shoulder and looking to blow this one open. Honestly, they are a bad matchup with us, the only part that seemed in their favor was Mario Williams and the D line, but even they sucked. We always seem to dominate Buffalo and honestly they didn't improve enough to contend with our D. It wasn't surprising at all even though I thought that article was a pretty fair analysis. Only darksiders who predicted a 6-7 win season are really shocked by this. Anybody who's been fair knew full well we were capable of this. I do admit I WAS surprised that Sanchez didn't get sacked once, but I would have been more shocked if we lost this game.
So I assume since you "knew" what was going to happen, you bet every penny you had on the exact score hitting, and now are shopping for a seventy foot yacht to spend your retirement on?
Just read the article. 48 points were surprising, so i don't take any beef with the use of the word. I think overall it was a positive response to a game well played. Also, the fact that the jets first punt was in the 4th quarter...that's effin astounding. I like our momentum, I think we might be playing the steelers at a perfect time to leave PA with an upset win. If we can run the ball, and tackle, we have a good chance.
LOL. I didn't say I KNEW they would blow them out. I said it wasn't a surprise. I did think it would be close originally since its the first game of the year, but I wasn't surprised. I just gave the Bills way too much credit and in a way people gave the media clowns too much credit in forecasting us as like 22nd the power rankings and 3rd place finish in AFCE. The only shocked people are the ones who believe those jackasses. If we put up 40+ on the Steelers, then I will legitimately be shocked.
After reading the Op's post and the title of this thread, I was SURPRISED at how fair-minded and objective that article was, haha.
not everybody was "surprised" I wasn't surprised. I thought the Jets would hang 30+ on the bills and said so repeatedly. There were also a handful of others who picked the Jets. I think they matchup very well with the Bills.
