Why does no one ever talk about the Rams as a team that needs a QB? Bulger is old and terrible, Trent Green is done, and Brock Berlin is probably nothing more than a future backup. In my opinion, they need a franchise QB just as much, if not more, thant the Lions, but nobody ever discusses them when talking about teams that need one. In my opinion, if the Lions don't take Stafford, the Rams will be all over him, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if they took Sanchez at #2 if Stafford went 1. Am I wrong here?
You're not wrong. The Rams need a quarterback. But putting Peyton Manning behind their swiss cheese offensive line would be an exercise in futility. The smartest play the Rams can make at number 2 is solidifying their offensive line by drafting a franchise left tackle and riding the Bulger train for one more year. Especially when their best player is a running back.
yes , jcotch is dead on. Bulger isn't horrible, they need an oline and to pass on one would set the franchise back a million years
Brock Berlin reminds me alot of Brett Ratliff. Both are young quarterbacks that some see as future stars and some see as nothing but a career backup. They draft a need not a luxury
They did just bring in Jason Brown who will pair with last year's big signing Jacob Bell and LT Orlando Pace. They would be wise to draft Jason Smith and move Pace out to the right side or at least play Smith on the right side until Pace has retired. QB isn't out of the picture though IMO and this is a great thread. The Rams have been quickly penciled in to take a tackle, but if they like Sanchez enough, I wouldn't be surprised if they jumped the gun on him. They could go with OT Jason Smith and look for someone like Josh Freeman in the 2nd or Nate Davis / Rhett Bomar in the 3rd. I think Marc Bulger still has some good play left in him though
