The Raiders D is like the opposite of the Vikes. They're the best team in the league against the pass averaging only 150 passing yards against them per game.

They're bad against the run though, averaging 135.1 per game, that's 27th in the league! We suit up any warm body and we can probably run on them...I hope Houston is ready to go, I heard he practiced well this weak. Get Cedric 20 carries, 12 for Leon along with about 4-5 short passes and we should be fine.

Everybody talks about them being this good defensive team...a good defensive team has balance! Within the top 15 in run and pass defense is good defense. 1st in pass defense and 27th against the run doesn't mesh.

And of course no offense, they have nothing to exploit our iffy run defense...now Zach Crockett is hurt. So forget about any holes being opened for Fargas.

oh, and they have the worst kick coverage in the NFL as well as the most total giveways(43) and lead the league in fumbles. We'll probably have good field position all day.

They have a good pass D and bad run D statistically because all teams do against them is run, run, run. Why do anything else? Their offense can not do anything.

Keep in mind while they do have a good passing defense, a lot of those numbers are skewed because teams are constantly winning against the Raiders, and have no need to throw the ball against them in the second half with the Raiders abysmal offense.

    Exactly.

For those that don't grasp the concept, and I specifically mean you Raiderjoey, check out the 2005 rankings:

    Pass defense
    1. Green Bay Packers
    2. New York Jets
    3. Baton Rouge/San Antonio/New Jersey Saints
    4. Cleveland Browns

Those four teams had a combined record of 17-47.

    ****

The 2006 Raiders pass defense is ranked #1 because the system only considers yards against.

If you look at all the numbers, the Raiders pass defense is above average, but it is not great.

    Raiders opponents
    223 completions
    380 attempts
    58.7 completion percentage
    2474 yards passing
    6.51 YPA
    16 touchdowns
    18 interceptions
sacked 33 times for 210 yards
    72.4 passer rating

keep in mind that ypg is a stupid stat to use to gauge the raiders since their d is on the field all the time

A good defensive team has more than 2 wins. Look at the Bears, their qb rated a 1.3 or someshit, they still win the game.

And if thats not enough, in 2003 we had the 28th ranked run defense and 6th ranked pass defense. A pass defense that boasted such impressive names as Sam Garnes, Aaron Beasley, Tyrone Carter and Jon Mcgraw. Jets fans know all about skewed statistics.

Listen do the math. Raidersc atren't as bad aginst the run as you believe. Just you let a team get as many carrys as they are averaging against the Raiders, and you don'[t have to be a rocket scientist ,to figure out your going to give up more rushing total yards. MORE Rushing attempts = More rushing yards (Bogus stat) Yards per carry is more important stat than total. Raiders have played four of the top five rushers in the league. You let them get 30 plus carrys and there a chance they are going to break one.

Jets don't have one of those five top runners and they aren't running on the Raiders. Jets are a one dimential offense(Pass) and Raiders welcome a chance to test Pennington arm. (going to be looking to make plays on the football).
What will the excuse be this week why Pennington struggled. HE had the flu.

HOw about we wait till Jets offense can't do anything on raiders defense. What will the excuse be. Chad had the runs. Jets were looking past the Raiders. Jets never play well at 1:00 Eastern time. L coles was hurting. Can't wait till sunday 4:15 when all the excuses start flying.

Bottom line ... f*** stats. The Raiders are 2 - 13. They got that way how? It is a 'COLLECTIVE' garbage heap. The Raiders however ... 'CAN' pull a surprise and if the JETS DO NOT take this game seriously they can be beaten .... ANY team can be beaten as evidence that we have NO undefeated teams, shit the Jets were beaten by the 'hapless' Browns and we almost beat he Colts and Bears.

This I promise you though, the JETS WILL NOT take this team lightly and they will mop the floor with the Raiders.

STOP HAVING DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR that the Raiders are anywhere NEAR even a 'MEDIOCRE' team they are just plain 'BAD' say hi to Lamont for us .... BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!
