I keep hearing about "The Plan" - from people on this webpage, even from Fat Francessa on FAN - they all keep talking about Mangini's and Tannenbaum's "plan" - maybe one of you folks, that know so much more then I do, as you never fail to remind me, can tell me what exactly this "Plan" is, As I see no "Plan" - I see an organization being tight with a dollar, a team without a bonifide playmaker on either side of the ball, a coaching staff coaching scared and afraid to make changes, a head coach that doesn't say anything and punishes any player that does, and a team made up of mediocore aging veterans and underperforming or untalented younger players. Maybe someone can let a dope like me in on this great "Plan". To me, it looks an awful lot like the last 39 years. Each one suffered through by this dopey fan.
Little boy's among men! Since the start of the Mangini era we all knew he was trying to duplicate what New England does on the field. Preparation was always the Bellich mantra and they were always prepared; this group of guys doesn’t seem to be prepared at all. They know what’s coming but can do nothing to stop it! (Defensively) On offense it’s exactly the same the opposing team knows exactly what’s coming and they have all the readiness to stop it and or turn it into their wining moment. The plan for any coach is 2 to 3 years. The plan doesn’t seem to be paying dividends for our coaching staff or is it deliberate? Are we being allowed to languish in order for Magini to be able to rip the team up and start from scratch? Maybe 06 was as much a surprise to Mangini as it was for us and the NFL. This year he thought he can just carry on and the same result would ensue; kind of adjust in flight or tweak while the season went on. Nice plan! If he doesn’t start the other Quarter back (Yeah I know raise the white flag) Then we know that we have a coach who is even more un prepared as herm was when he took over; at least he was able to see the personnel needed for the Tampa two and we put a descent defense on the field (Still got killed by the rush). Enough secrecy student of bill , lets play some football!
Very legitimate point. I've read countless posts about "I expect this year to be a step back year with a big uptick in 2008". That seems to be a bit silly at this point. We're rudderless right now: -No talent on the defensive line -linebackers are mis-matched -Revis looks like he'll be good, but Rhodes looks to be regressing, everyone else in the secondary you can have! -Cotchery looks good but isn't a gamebreaker, Washington has talent but isn't an every down player, Smith gets way too much love, he's a spot player at best, and Coles is solid, but also 29, getting to age where he'll slow down. -Offensive line S-U-C-K-S, SUCKS, SUCKS, SUCKS! This is very bad. The plan? Start over...
The Plan is what the Patriots did to win their Super Bowls. Have smart, tough low priced interchangeable players. The Original Plan was abondoned by the Pats this year as the plan is now load up on playmakers to help your all time great franchise QB. Too bad we are still going by the old plan, and we do not have a all time great QB.
Plan A should be to stop whining like a little b*tch. Plan B should be to add something constructive.
Everybody stop whining already. The plan is going in the right direction even as mistakes were made in the off season and it is just off track a bit right now. Clearly, the team has taken a step back but it's not that far away. They are in all the games except the NE game and could have won them all. No excuses though. The skill players are there. We have enough playmakers in the secondary and on the offensive side of the ball to be very productive. Problem is we have 2/5 of an O Line. D line is sad. LB's are overmatched given the ineffectiveness of the D line. You can legitimately criticize the FO for failing to address the trenches in the off season. It's obvious they will go in that direction this upcoming off season. QB play has been a problem as well. It's no damn secret. Unfortunately, we are stuck with the personnel until the off season and the only thing that can light a spark is a QB change. Mangini will pull the plug on Chad at the bye. The kid will be getting his shot in about 3 weeks but there is no reason to blow everything up and change regimes.
^Ok, that is your opinion of "The Plan" as you see it. It still doesn't tell me what this "Plan" is supposed to be.
The plan is to go into Iraq and make them Democratic... ...oops, that's the other Commander and Chief's failed plan...sorry
How the hell are any of us supposed to know what the plan is? It's not something they're going to publicize. I figured this would be obvious but apparently not.
