Clearly this team needs youth on the OL and at the LB spot for the future.

I'd like to see who likes who, and who will be available around the 20th-27th pick this year.

The way the Jet's season (Offense) is going you may want to be looking at 14-19.

Hey, let me hold my last piece of optimism before I let it go.

They'll be 2-3 if Mangold doesn't return next week.

When Mangold comes back I believe our O-line will be fine. I'd like to see the Jets get a second rd RT tackle like Matt Reynolds or Bobbie Massie, both would be perfect RTs to compete with Hunter and give us good LT depth if D-brick gets hurt.

Wisconsin's Ricky Wagner, Stanford's Jonathan Martin, and Iowa's Reilly Reiff are my top tackles.

Arizona State's Vontaze Burfict would be an awesome fit inside in Ryan's scheme.

Pittsburgh's Brandon Lindsey is a good looking OLB prospect.

I like what I've seen from Aaron Maybin in this game. He's working hard. He may have a future as a situational pass rusher - he's an upgrade over Westerman.

^ The front office needs to upgrade through free agency.

Tannenbaum failed this team in certain areas. This team is worse from last year in many areas - wideout and right tackle especially.

Instead of trying to make headlines, he needs to bring in depth.

furthermore it's laughable the front office thought the team had the luxury to expend picks on players who wouldn't immediately contribute.

That would be my pick if they went OLB in the 2nd. Mainly because he's a LB turned DE turned OLB and has succeeded every step of the way.

And too bad he's only a sophomore, but Nordly Capi of CSU is unstoppable so far, 8 sacks in 5 games. Yeah, it's not against the best talent, but it's impressive nonetheless...

another 10 pick draft would be nice, seeing as it worked big time in 06.

    That's what the team needs.

I really can't understand how Wayne Hunter became so bad in one offseason

Well, there wasn't an offseason, but I know exactly what you mean.

It baffles me too. How does someone go from doing well in January to playing like shit.

It makes me think he played for a contract and now is resting on that check he's getting, even though it wasn't a lucrative deal compared to other tackles.

Did he really play that well though? He coped but was a penalty machine and made similar mental errors. He does look soft physically this year which could explain his issues stopping the rush.

Ref the draft i do think the jets have tried to be too smart picking the smart "project " pick , there were plenty of picks that the knowledgeable guys on here and in the varous networks sugested that would have been more immediately beneficial.

Also and its a bugbear of mine ... I know its the 7th rd but the pick of Mcknight was a waste of a pick that could have gone on a ol/lb/cb..would it have worked possibly not but the mcknight pick was unnecessary. We seem to completely disregard 6th / 7th rd picks..I think only Slauson out of the last 6 drafts has stuck.

Bryan Thomas is gone (his injury last night just confirms it).

Who's going to be the best OLB available in free agency? Anthony Spencer. Pass.

Teams almost never trade pass rushers so that's not going to be a realistic option.

If we don't use next year's first round pick on an offensive lineman, we should spend it on an OLB.

Who do I want? Vinny Curry. Another Jersey-born prospect who displays tremendous burst and has room to bulk up.

I like Vinny Curry too, but this isn't college football. It shouldn't matter where these kids are from.

Kyle Wilson and Muhammed Wilkerson were coincidences.

Curry should not be selected ahead of players like Bruce Irvin, Brandon Jenkins, Brandon Lindsey, Devin Taylor, and Donte Paige-Moss just because he's from New Jersey.

I agree that it doesn't matter where our draft picks are from. I just think that that he could be a perfect fit for this team.
