Hello Everyone! The New York Jets are going to win the AFC Championship game tomorrow afternoon. The score will be 24-21. That being fact, I'd like this thread to be the official go-to thread for everything related to travel and lodging to the Jets' SB in Miami. It will be a consolidated place for information on availability of tickets, airlines and lodging and will help all NY Jets fans immensely. Looking for ideas and recommendations on: 1) How to obtain SB tickets 2) What airlines and which airports are the easiest and closest for this stadium? 3) What hotels-motels are nearby? 4) Are package deals really worth the price or are you better off making your own package? 5) Rental cars or other ground transporation recommendations. I've already started researching. JetBlue seems to have quite a few flights out of Newark and LaGuardia on Feb 6, returning Feb 8. One flight from Newark to Ft. Lauderdale is $688 round trip for two, for example. I'm sure there are many others. For those who have been to a SB before - What do you recommend? Any tips, pointers, things to do to save money, etc., greatly appreciated. Thanks very much in advance.
Awesome! I will wait until Sunday night to start planning, but it doesn't hurt to get a head start.
Keep in mind that West Palm, Fort Lauderdale and Miami are well within driving distance of each other, so that any of those destinations will do just fine.
condo in ft lauderale is my aunts 2 roundtrip outta newark fri 6am return miami 554pm monday (tuesday is the parade up the Canyon of Heroes) rental car from hertz on reserve fri-mon (if i dont show by midnight fri it is released) just need a victory tomorrow and tix for me and my 7 year old boy
If we are lucky enough to win the SB tix lottery my son & I are leaning to trucking there via car. Our lodging is no problem as my sis in law lives about 20 minutes from the stadium
Looking at Hampton Inn in FT Lauderdale or Doral. Just had the argument of a lifetime with the missus when i explained I wasn't joking about a 3k trip min. All we need now is a win!!
Good point. We all need to be back by Monday night. I would not want to miss that parade. Nothing planned or mentioned yet in the meadowlands, I guess. Tommorrow night this thread will light up.
I just had the same discussion and the wife is cool with this. She knows how long I've suffered and well, at my age, who knows if this will ever come my way again.
I had this discussion with her for the soccer world cup so this has been a discussion of Kofi Annan levels!!!
Set me up with an extra BR and I will pick up the total cost of the rental car, gas and all. We can then all carpool it to the stadium on Sunday morning. And oh... the clincher... my wife is an excellent designated driver.
Jetblue has some cheap flights flying out of Kennedy on Saturday 2/6 to west palm beach hotel/motels will be easier to find there.. and its not far.. the west palm beach airport code pbi.. is a pleasure travelling in and out of
Lets not get ahead of ourselves. If we win tomorrow & if we win the SB tix lottery we will be happy to have a meet & greet. SE Florida is loaded with places to have cocktails & eat so it only be a matter of finding a place everybody would agree on
Part of me really wants to go to Miami regardless, but I couldn't imagine at this point, going and then not getting into the game. I need to find tickets cheap or something, but that'll never happen.
Me & my 6 year old boy will be heading down on Friday by car (only 10 hours from NC)and staying at my wife's aunts house (she lives 20 minutes from Miami)....just need tickets!!
I used to work a lot in Miami and I'm already set with travel and lodging. Getting a ticket (just one) is the hard part. I have 4 people in Miami looking for me, but nothing yet. Nose bleeds are going for $3,000 on ebay. Yikes! Any ideas for getting tix would be great.
I was thinking of this as well, and trying to get a ticket through a scalper. But obviously you'd have to worry about fraud, and carrying that much cash is not wise.
we have 2 designated drivers btw i had posted it before parking is like $65 and no tailgating but the shuttle is $5 each way and you dont have to worry about dwi in miami
