Got 6 deep drop multi day trips scheduled for '24. Pulley Ridge in Sept. is the one I'm really looking forward to. Will be in Orlando in February but no fishing.
Damn, that's committed.... long runs to those water up there too! Hopefully Pulley Ridge works out. Peak of huricane season dice-roll...
Yeah.. Canyon runs take time. I'm hoping for a decent weather window this September. It will be the middle of Sept. so maybe I luck out. Either way, with proper notification, I might be able to reschedule my train and boat reservations for early '25.
Man, I havent been offshore in a long time! Weather has really been shitting on us.... My buddy picked up an 87" ipilot trolling motor yesterday for his 25CC.... so hopefully some bottom fishing (without an anchor) coming soon... if wind or rain ever stops
You see these new BIG Squidtrex lures?!?! Theyre pricey but look pretty sick... and seem to be up your alley: https://www.tackledirect.com/nomad-...op+All+Squidtex+Vibes&utm_campaign=PR_11724pm all the way up to 21oz the 170 8 3/4oz looks killer
Anybody ever catch a shark? My cousin and I went fishing off the coast of nc and there was a huge tiger shark in the area. We didn't hook it though.
I'm guessing theyre the same type of material as the Zman inshore lures.... The big sizes could be a sick deep drop lure.
My cousin is an expert fisherman and well seasoned on the ocean but even he was daunted by the task. The boat at the time was about 15ft, now he's got a way bigger boat, not sure how big but 20ft+. I think with that size he would be a little more confident going after a Tiger. Once he's retired we may sail from his beach spot in NC to Aruba.
Yes, many times.... and all were unintentional catches that ate what I was actually fishing for. To be honest shark fishing is pretty stupid for the most part. Not much different that tying your fishing line to Makai Becton's waist and have him jog down the street
