I go through this every week with Giant fans. Looking to get some feedback.

The Giants gave the house for Elli and hes just not working out. The team has lost faith in their Coach (if they ever did believe) Shockey running his mouth Barber running his Plexico giving up on his routes. There is just no heart or fight in this team and no one to look to for guidance.

His passing Completion is under 60% (58 and dropping) Qb rating around 75

Is this the guy they up 2-1st round picks 2-3rd round picks? I dont think any team has givin up this much for a single player

Look at what the chargers have done in the same amount of time

You're correct that the Giants as a team are just a disaster. The NFC is awful enough that they still should make the playoffs which would get alot of people off the hook. Eli is not a bust in the sense that he's probably going to have a long career as a starter but from what we've seen he's definitely not worth what the Giants gave up to get him.

As much as I hate to admit it, there is at least a little bit of unfairness to Eli being labeled a bust. If his name hadn't been Manning, he wouldn't have been traded for, he wouldn't have started as early as he did, and he'd probably be benched now. None of that says that he's going to be great, of course, but it would at least have given him more time to develop into what he can be. And Shockey dropping passes, Burress not running out his routes, and Toomer going out certainly hasn't helped him any. You can't blame him for not being worth what they gave up for him, but you can certainly blame Accorsi.

Now, if you want to say that after ~35 starts Manning is still a mediocre-at-best QB, I don't see how anyone can argue with that.

Tiki Barber is a jerk. He can say that his retirement isn't affecting the team all he wants, but I'm pretty sure that it is. Especially with the "team leader" consistently going to the media to complain about the coach. What do you care Tiki? You are leaving anyway. Giants were pretty good until they got hit by all those injuries. Eli's having another mediocre year, he'll have to step it up next year when they are healthy again before I label bust.

The reality is, in terms of potential, there was not much of a difference between Rivers and Manning. The Giants jumped on the Manning hype train and there was no stopping them from their poor decision making.

Rivers was the son of a coach, a 4 year starter, and was in every sense of the word his team's MVP. He was probably the top quarterback in ACC history up to that point, and he had over 50 starts under his belt. Once he put to rest concerns about his delivery, there shouldn't have been any question. He was the MVP of 5 Bowl games.

Roethlisberger had small school concerns, but when he was there Miami of Ohio was the top program in the MAC. He had a cannon arm, escapability, and prototypical size.

Despite all this the Giants gave up a king's ransom for a guy who was not appreciably better than these two.

Thanks to two trades for two of the most overrated quarterbacks in the last decade, the San Diego Chargers have built a championship core.

Im just wondering how much time do you give to sissy boy before you bench him for the Hefty Lefty. I hate how pouty he looks when he screws up.

I remember how pissed I was when the Giants drafted him, especially when I found out how much they gave up for him. I wanted the Giants to draft Robert Gallery(looks like he wouldnt have worked out either) because for some odd reason I had all the confidence in the world in Kerry Collins. Then the following year their 1st rounder was a top 10 pick. I couldve cared less about Shawn Merriman because the giants already had there defensive ends and Merriman cant play as a true linebacker, but i was pissed that Derrick Johnson was still on the board. Shouldve had Gallery and Derrick Johnson over Eli.

Another thing that amazes me is how he overthrows Burress, Shockey and Toomer, all over 6'4. What, does he need a 7'2 receiver?

Burress is a joke. I never seen a receiver play so half assed in my life. Its embarassing, especially when he lays down as soon as a defender gets near him. Watching him play makes me appreciate Amani Toomer. Toomer is the only guy i've seen who catches Eli's awful passes, most of which are thrown out of bounds and he some how brings them in. As for Shockey, hes one of the few g-men who shows up and plays with all heart. Granted hes like a TO on the field(in the sense that his hands arent that great and you have to get him the ball early and alot), but he doesnt quit. Im not bugged by his comments because theyre usually not malicious towards his teammates(mostly the coaches) and he usually apologizes the next day when he realizes how much of an ass he looked like. Hes just a typical hot head, not a cancer

Giants have a beat up offensive line and lost their #2 WR.

And their #1 WR keeps pulling a Randy Moss.

Their TE is a head case, their coach has 2 heart attacks a game.

Give Eli a break will ya?

The giants o-line is still better than alot of other teams. Eli has time to throw the ball

Agreed, Burress is Randy Moss Jr right now

Shockey plays hard, all the time, even in blowouts. Just look at the Seattle game where he was still busting his ass in the final 30 seconds when the giants were down by 2 scores.

Eli over throws EVERYBODY by a mile. Toomer is the only one who makes him look somewhat decent, and thats all on Toomer's behalf. Even if Toomer was still playing, he'll still overthrow him half the time.

Eli does have one thing going for him.

My brother and his wife lived in the same building in Hoboken as Eli until very recently. Last year my brother was walking up to the building and saw an attractive woman standing outside. As my brother, who doesn't have a much of a wandering eye, started to get closer, he noticed how hot this girl was. In fact, by the time my brother was within ten paces of her he said to himself, "This is the hottest girl I have ever laid eyes on."

Just about then, Eli walked out of the building and he and his girlfriend went off together.

Let's not feel too bad for him.

Wasn't Nate Kaeding the other pick as well?

    Ouch.

If Eli doesn't have the last name "Manning" then Accorsi doesn't send all of that for him.

Lets slow down on calling this guy a bust.... The Giants have been ravaged by injury and certainly Tom Coughlin having lost the team doesn't help either. The big question is when Couglin is fired (if they don't make the playoffs) how much say will the Bitch aka Manning Family have who the next Giants coach is?
