What happened to everyone praising Young, projecting him as the number 1 overall pick, crediting him for one of the most clutch performances at the highest stage in college football? I'm confused. So a poor intelligence score and a slightly slower 40 time makes us forget everything? This guy is big, strong, athletic, fast, and has the potential to be a star. He has proven that he can handle himself on the big stage. He's shown that when the game is on the line, he WILL take over. Take the "chance", DRAFT YOUNG!
There's nothing wrong with Young as a QB. He's a very talented player, and just because he had a low score on the wonderlic, doesn't mean he can't throw a football.... Personally, if were the Jets I'd go with Leinart over Young. They're both very good, but Leinart is ready today. Young may take a year....
The prolblem with young is he has never taken a snap over center!! Oh yes, he is also slightly retarded...
Just because he sucked on his Wonderlic dosen't mean he is illiterate morons. Stop saying that stupid crap.
He's never taken a snap over the center? Well, I don't think many QBs in this draft have played Nose Tackle, so that's probably true for many.
He looked comfortable enough taking snaps from under center in high school: http://www.jcdenton40.com/VinceYoung-HS.html Vince is better than Leinart right now. Why wouldn't he be? Because he's black and athletic? He beat Leinart out for every major award this year, finished ahead of Leinart in pass efficiency, and beat Leinart in the Rose Bowl. Game, set, match.
I was listening to Pat Kirwan on Sirius NFL radio earlier this hour and he was commenting on Vince Young's workout. He spoke to a couple of NFL personnel guys who attended the workout.Kirwan said Young didn't take any snaps from a center. It took place inside. It was a controlled environment and not a true indication of where Young stands Jay Cutler had his workout outside and was more impressive Young is a major gamble
Asked to compare Young's workout to one given last Friday by Vanderbilt's Jay Cutler in cold weather and swirling winds, one scout said told Mortensen, "There was no comparison. Cutler made all the throws in tough conditions while Young limited his range of throws and he was indoors." http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft06/news/story?id=2380236 Vince Young:rofl:
