the Oakland Raiders could benefit from trading back in the draft

the Oakland Raiders have problems everywhere. Al Davis hasn't been great when it comes to giving away draft picks, most of the guys he took were busts.

they have a new GM now, and they need to rebuild their team. the way it is right now, it looks like they will have a top 5 pick. I'm sure a lot of teams would trade up with them.

the way I look at it, the Raiders can get a top 5 player but it really won't make a difference. why? because they don't have a second round pick. this team needs to get as many draft picks together as they can.

they could easily draft Manti Te'o, but he's not going to turn the team around by himself. the Raiders need help on both sides of the ball, McFadden can't stay healthy and the only thing that is consistent with Oakland is their superior kicking/punting.

if I was the Raiders GM, I would draft back to the mid-teens/early twenties grab a second/third for the upcoming draft and possibly a second first in the 2014 draft.

I think the Raiders could benefit from this and it will help their team in the long run.

And the Jets could definitely benefit from drafting a player like Te'o. Although I'm kind of tired of Tanny trading up, but if he's not gone this year, he'll need to make some kind of splash because it could very well be his last chance and he knows it.

The problem here is there is not a must have player in this draft.

I don't foresee many teams in the mid to late first trading up for a DT or MLB with star and Te'o being the two best players in this draft.

The pass rushers all seem to have some issues. Jones has his neck history, Mingo has not produced, Werner may have the least flaws of the top end group.

There is no true franchise QB or Game breaking RB Or WR to be had.

This is going to be a bad draft for trading back, your not going to get the same value as last year. Payer value seems to really plateau after the top ten for a good long period and there is not a sure fire superstar at a high value position.

The Raiders could just draft Matt Barkley and let him sit behind Carson Palmer for a year or two. They're rebuilding. They're probably going to have another high pick in 2014. Drafting Barkley would give them a basis for the rebuild and possibly a very attractive trading chip if they liked their position in the draft for QB's in 2014.

The raiders are the raiders. That organization will find a way to screw things up one way or another and I'm all for it.
