Where to go from here? I haven’t really looked into it and I think it’s harder for fans to have a sense of these guys since we have no idea how influential they are in the decisions (unlike head coaches). If Wood-RUFF Johnson has anything to say about it, you can flush BOTH those lists. Not only that, but we need to start scouring the D- lists of candidates, both HC and GM. Of course, because you know that's how "stupid" is going to hire them. Johnson will hire the HC and then the GM. Why? Because it's what he does.
Either that or the personal masseuse of C. Johnson. Maybe their chauffeur. That would be in line with his usual way of thinking. In reality, it'll probably be the college roommate of "Brick" is it? Anyway you look at it, the entire fan base will be saying exactly this: "WHO THE FUCK IS THAT GUY?" Sad thing is, once the hire is announced, 95% of us will do whatever it takes to "convince" ourselves it was a whiz bang hire and "no one" could be as bad as JD or Idzik. Of THAT you can rest assured.
Yeah…normally I would be getting excited about the opportunity for improvement when this kind of thing happens. I was ecstatic when both Idzik and Mac were fired. I was happy when Bowles and more so Gase was fired. But now? Fuckface Woody has pretty much beaten out all of the hope from me. I have NO DOUBT that he will FUCK this up like nobody’s business. I have no doubt that the next GM and the next HC will be more of the same shit we’ve seen. I wish I could turn a switch and just dump this loser fucking team … I may not be quite there yet but man it’s getting close. I hate Woody. I hate him with a fucking passion. I hate how stupid he is. I hate how he has absolutely ZERO ability to identify and attract and retain talent. If he were any kind of manager in any fucking business he’d be the worst one there and he’d have a shit fucking team under him. But I have very little hope that this time, he will make two good hires. He won’t. We ALL KNOW he won’t.

The Jets need a solid talent evaluator and scouting department for once. They should lean towards a candidate known for his personnel background. Bring in a new scouting team and build a long-term foundation through the draft.
We need a competent GM that is given total discretion to choose a veteran, offensive minded coach. Enough with hiring defensive coaches who have never been a head coach before. We have a potential QB in Travis Hunter ready to compete next year and an offensive line that will just need a couple of pieces in the offseason/draft to be half-way decent. It is doable of we get the right people in the front office and on the coaching staff, but as many people have rightfully said, the Johnsons remain the biggest obstacle to all of this happening.

If I’m a legit GM candidate, I tell Woodrow I want 6 year deal at a top 5 salary. Enough to set up your family for life while factoring in risk that Woody will meddle in draft and FA decisions, leading to your eventual firing.
Leave the job open. Set up a website where the fans can vote on each move and go with the majority opinion. I mean, we can't do any worse than the last three people who have held that job.
I want Borgonzi from the Chiefs. Brings deep experience across different roles. Director of Football Ops, Director of Player Personnel and now Ass't. GM in his 16 years for the dynasty Chiefs. Strong scouting and draft background. Interviewed for the Commanders GM job before they picked Adam Peters from another successful organization in the Niners. This looks like the guy. Go get 'er done Jets.
If I were Woody, I'd get down on my knees to hire Bill Belichick as GM, not coach mind you. Then let him pick his own coach. At least you know decisions would be made on the basis of football and nothing else. A coach with Belichick looking over his shoulder should keep mistakes to a minimum. Should quiet down this board too. Who's going to argue with Bill Belichick?
Yeah Agnew was the first name to my mind. Especially since his son is currently a scout for the jets, and he could bring Glenn w him if all parties agree. Like others have noted, however, I would prefer our next coach be an offensive coach.
Plenty of people, and rightfully so. He was terrible without the all-time great Brady running his team. And even if he was a great coach without Brady, I wouldn't want him anywhere near this franchise. I'd rather keep losing as a complete clown show than be brought into prominence by Belichick. On the other hand, Belichick coming here would give me all I need to finally throw in the towel with this sorry franchise and move on to something else.
Bill was pretty bad at drafting in NE. I don't hate the idea of him as HC but I see very little chance of it happening.
It's a damn shame, and it feels weird because it's the first time, but I have lost all hope, literally zero hope at all, that the Jets will get this right. And frankly, they aren't even remotely set up to do so. I don't have any confidence that Woody Johnson will pick the right guy, or even knows how to go about searching for the right guy. There have just been far too many incompetent and dysfunctional mistakes made on every level from every standpoint for 12 years and running. And make no mistake, those 12 years have eroded any real interest/confidence/desire for anybody of any reputable worth to come here. It happens once or twice, you can still attract somebody. After all of this and how the Jets have gone about the last couple of years, there's not a chance. Besides, Aaron Rodgers is still here. Who the hell is going to want to come here knowing that an entire rebuild is necessary, and they are either stuck with Aaron Rodgers, or an entire year with a salary cap is so hamstrung that they have no shot? Nobody, that's who. At this point, we may as well hang on to Phil Savage for a year until 2026 when everything clears up and then start over for real then.
