Ive been very pleased in the preseason to see Nugents kickoffs. Last year he averaged 60.5 yds per kickoff which put him 2nd to last in the AFC. In 18 kicks this preseason he has a 65.3 average. If he kicks close to that this year he will be in the top 5. In 137 career kickoffs he has 3 measly touchbacks. He had 3 just this preseason. I think hes going to have a great year and it will help out the special teams a bunch.

One of his kicks today landed inside the 1. He's definitely improved, last year people were saying he was a waste of a pick, but hopefully he comes through this year.

He put on more pounds of pure muscle during the off-season. In doing so his kicks have added power behind them, thus finally being worth the 2nd rd pick he was taken at. Nuge will be great this year.

Last year he had one bad week against Tennessee, after that game he missed just one FG the rest of the season.

Let's reserve judgment until we see him kick in Meadowland winds. I agree that it looks like he has a bit more pop to his kickoffs. I could never understand how he could hit a 55 yard field goal but couldn't reach the 10 yard line with his kickoffs.

Nice improvement on kickoffs from Nugent so far. But ultimately, he will be judged on whether or not he hits 80% of his field goal tries.

What a pleasant surprise Nuge has been. Did anyone expect him to be able to improve those kickoffs so much? If he maintains what he has been doing with FG's and can continue to kickoff this deep we really do have ourselves one of the best kickers in the league IMO. I'll never complain about Nuge again unless he misses an easy game winner of course ...

Nugent has been much improved on kickoffs. I agree with the setiment that it will be harder in the Meadowlands winter winds, but isn't it difficult for any kicker?

As I've always said, make the field goals and I'm not going to go crazy over where the kickoffs land. Nice to see him improving it, though.

If we could only fix noodle arm the same way we fixed noodle leg.

Nugent was very good for most of last year. Now that his kickoffs are much deeper, and if he can retain the accuracy from last season, we have a top flight kicker on our hands. Exactly what he was touted to be.
