Yahoo is running this fantasy football league with mayors from big cities across the country. No true local teams represented to care about, but the winner of the league gets 15 grand to be spent on the youth football program in the city. Not bad for 20 minutes work a week for some fantasy football-able aide.

Sadly, however, this league will open up the door to numerous claims that will sound something like, "How can we expect this guy to clean up crime on the streets of Oakland if he's starting Derrick Ward against the Vikings over Matt Forte?? He's a joke!".

So, I decide to head on down to the league page, http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/league/mayoral_faceoff09, to check out what the mayors have been up to, and what do you know, the Green Bay mayor has already put a timer on his political career.

GB's top politician dealt away Adrian Peterson, along with Vincent Jackson and Chester Taylor for Steve Smith and Pierre Thomas. Maybe it's just me, but the mayor of Sacramento earned himself another term or two with a lineup now featuring Michael Turner and Adrian Peterson.
