" On one side of the room, Brandon Marshall was Mr. Sunshine, claiming their 1-4 start is "a perfect place for us" and insisting the Jets will turn it around. At one point, he let out a whoop and clapped his hands, sounding as if he were trying to fire up his teammates in a pregame huddle. Some of them looked over, wondering what was happening. Marshall is a head case always has been. He is our best player and also one of the few players with heart on this squad. I like his enthusiasm.
So do I but we need a win to get some confidence back....I think we can do it but we need a W to start down that road.
Of course he thinks they are in perfect position - - they throw to him every time! Marshall is a big part of the problem. They target him so much and its so inefficient. He has the worst target to completion efficiency in the league. For every big play he makes he has an equally big, key drop or the defense catches on to Fitzpatrick looking his way every time.
Watching that post game interview was cringe worthy and simply bizarre. How is this a prime position to be in, and why are you smiling and clapping? Welp, guess the 1-4 start got to Marshall's head a bit. Like they say, if you don't laugh, you cry
This is despicable. All players should be resigned to the fact that the team is terrible and show no optimism ever. Seriously, on other teams this would be "veteran leadership steering the team through a rough patch." Here it's something to find another reason to bitch about.
Uhhhhh I'm pretty sure fans in every city would find fault with their mercurial wide reciever describing a 31-13 loss to go 1-4 as "the perfect place to be"
Look, those comments were obviously very strange. But if you're asking me whether I'd rather have that, the apathy that most players are showing at 1-4, or the breakdowns that Marshall has had on past teams, I'd take the random optimism in a heartbeat. The guy is at the Jets facility at 11:50 at night after losing in another state 6 hours ago watching film of the next opponent. https://www.instagram.com/p/BLXiwXRhuON/ It feels like this might be his last season and he's laying out everything he's got. I respect that a hell of a lot more than what I'm seeing from other guys.
psssttt.... you should be thankful we have a guy like this on the team.. You know.. the other 50 guys had their heads down and lips poked out... Maybe Marshall is saving the TEAM from having a mental meltdown by being the only one to not show signs of being DEAD. I mean .. he looked like he was the only one trying on Sunday.
