Apr 24 KFFL has learned the New York Jets held a private workout with University of Iowa OL Mike Jones on the university's campus.

Compares To: Ben Hamilton, Denver Broncos ? Like Hamilton, Jones is not the bulkiest blocker you will find, but he has good short-area explosion and good hand placement to be an effective drive blocker ? He is better working at the line than into the second level, but he has the functional quickness to get in front on pulls and traps ? His versatility will be a bonus, as he spends his first year or so allowing his body to mature.

Any comparison to any bronco lineman is good praise. I see him being vital in alot of Leon Washington running situations if drafted. AND,,,, The Jets have Tony Wise as their line coach.

I made a widely ignored thread about people I thought the Jets might look at and he's one of them. He's got good size and is tough. He;s from Iowa so you KNOW he's technically sound. Just a quality late round draft pick.
