I know it sounds crazy but hear me out. 1. The Bears have a deep WR room but paper thin at RB. We are deep at RB and need a WR2. They are scrambling right now at RB to the point DJ Moore is increasingly getting more snaps at RB. 2. The 2 HCs have a relationship together so I think a deal could be done. I’d like to keep Breece so I’m thinking Braylon or Isaiah & mid round pick? 3. The Fields and Moore connection was electric. DJ Moore never wanted the Bears to trade Fields and at times he’s been unable to hide his frustration w/ that decision. He’s already on thin ice over some of his not so subtle protesting antics. Also what star wide receiver wants to play RB? 4. AG recently challenged a reporter’s take that this is a passing league by referencing the Eagles offense. If we’re really trying to be like the Eagles, then don’t half ass it. Put your money where your mouth is. Despite being a predominantly running team, the Eagles have a total average of $57M a year invested in their WR1&2, AJ Brown and Devante Smith. Moore & Wilson would be $58M and that’s only after Wilson’s extension kicks in after his 5th year. 5. Fields is only on a glorified one year deal. Even if one thinks he stinks, it shouldn’t preclude us from building out a good roster. One which would put the next QB in the best possible position to be successful if/when it is proven their Fields can’t play. Having a good oline, offensive weapons and a defense already established will only make a rookie QB’s life easier.
Why would the Bears give up their best receiver just to get a running back? You can most definitely get a decent RB for a 4th round pick as opposed to one of the best receivers in the league and the anchor of your offense.
Why would the Viking trade Phillips for what amounts to a 6th round pick? Stranger things have happened. There are many in Chicago that believe Rome Odunze is better and a better fit for Ben Johnson’s offense. They point to Moore in the backfield as a sign that Ben Johnson is still trying to find Moore’s role in his offense. Lastly, Luther Burden has been an absolute beast in camp and does a lot of what Moore does as a WR.
The Bears are not thin enough at RB to make that move. Ben Johnson fully endorsed Swift as his RB1, and then they have two physical bangers behind him for short yardage duty and to lean on a defense at the end of games. They’re going to trade their proven WR1 because they have a top ten pick that was a bit underwhelming last year and a second round rookie? With a second year QB? Behind them is nothing but journey men. Wanting the Jets to trade for a player is one thing, fabricating reasons why the team should trade them is another.
“Fabricating reasons”? I lived in Chicago for a decade still have loads of friends in the area. These are actual stuff being talked about among the fan base. https://beargoggleson.com/don-t-be-shocked-if-bears-eventually-explore-this-dj-moore-trade
You just posted an article about them trading him after the season not two weeks before the start of the year. It literally says “this isn’t a discussion for right now” in the meat of the article. So do you want to talk about trading for him now/soon or in the offseason?

So what? If there’s a possibility of a player being traded tomorrow, then they could be traded today. It’s not “fabrication” to suggest DJ Moore could be had based on the varied circumstances in Chicago. I think the same can be said about Breece with us. Viable trade targets are not limited only to guys that demand to be traded.
You like to argue. I get it. Anyway, if I were Mougey, I would monitor the DJ Moore situation out in Chicago. Based on the completely out the blue Phillips trade, I’m sure he is.
I don't think there's even a DJ Moore situation to monitor. This is clearly a fan-written opinion piece. There's no signs whatsoever that they want to move on from him. It's all speculation. He even has a header that says "bear with me here" because of how far-fetched it is.
There were no signs that the Vikings were looking to trade team captain Harrison Phillips other than they had defensive line depth. Thank God Mougey was monitoring that and not waiting for “signs”.
https://www.startribune.com/minneso...flores-injury-report-practice-notes/601454635 My guy should have have seen the “signs”,
I don’t even know how this is still a discussion but comparing a 29-year-old defensive tackle in the last year of his deal that has guaranteed money to the centerpiece of an offense who just signed a huge extension making $27 million next year is not the best of game plans. Listen, I would love to trade for DJ Moore all I’m saying is it’s not happening
A two-down run stuffing defensive tackle becoming expendable (after the FO brought in two former Pro Bowm defensive tackles in the offseason is a bit different than trading your top receiver two weeks before the season with #1 overall QB going into year two. The contract details? Jonathan Allen signed for 3 years/$51 million and Javon Hargrave signed for 2 years/$30 million. But yeah let’s create more dumb comparisons for the sake of your argument.
Bringing up compensation is what’s dumb.since the comparison was about money but about not seeing “signs”. I could have used the George Pickens trade. The point is surprise trades happen all the time. You seem like a smart guy so I’m sure you knew that but your need to argue takes over.
Looks like Renfrow was cut. I don’t know if it was motivated by his health but he could be a good waiver target.
I am not trading Allen, Davis sure he can go. Allen almost always falls forward and gains 4 yards. They dont make running backs like him
