their 3rd consecutive non-winning season under Rex Ryan. Boy, do the jets need a rebuild. Most smart teams do NOT rebuild with the guy that has taken them down to this level.
I thought we started rebuilding last season? What exactly are you talking about? We started the rebuild already. And yea blame Rex its all rexs fault. How many coaches can win with a Rookie scrub QB 2 out of 5 years.Rex had us at 5-4 this year until the offense ruined that and he won alot of games with Sanchez as his QB.Look around the league aside from Belichek who else can win games with scrubs at every position on offense?
It doesnt matter who the coach is you can dig up Lombardi if the talents not there then the talents not there.Period The End.Rex overachived with a team of nobodys had us at 5-4 .At some point smoke and mirrors no longer works and the lack of talent catches up to you witch it did
Then just MAYBE Rex should have lobbied to use just ONE of his last FOUR first round picks on offense, instead of defense. Just a thought (that would never originate in Rex's brain). Wasting a first round pick on Coples and then trying to make him play LB is one example of Rex's warped reality. Who else besides Rex would play a 290 lb. DE at LINEBACKER?
Did you watch the game today? Coples once again, had a good game. Let me ask you this. If not for those four defensive players, who would YOU have picked. This year nobody was worth taking at 9 or 13 for the offensive side of the ball. Last year, I don't see anyone either at 16. Maybe Kendall Wright, but he's a slot receiver and we already have Kerley. But I'll leave it up to you. Who would you have picked at either of those drafts.
Exactly. I couldn't possibly agree more. Continue rebuilding the roster, but the CS needs rebuilding as well, and they need new leadership on the field. Rex just doesn't get it (and obviously many Jets fans don't either, as many think he should be extended).
How much do you expect Rex to do with a team that needs more talent? I do believe that the Jets aren't that far off from being competitive. But the fact that the Jets are 6-8 with a 3 win roster is impressive.
Guy at worst with be at .500 at the end of the season. He has had two rookie QBs, defense heavy teams, and injuries...guys play hard for him every game and I am happy to see guys going all out for their coach.
The issue is that there are many of us who believe that Rex had A LOT to do with the drafting during the 5 yrs and thereby a direct effect on the state of the roster.
So lets bring in some unproven college coach who Jets fans would want fired after 8 games,Then what?rinse repeat rinse repeat.Every year this orginazation feels the need to have a" scape goat" Shotty,Sparano,Mr.T, Do the good franchises have scape goats every season?Nope just the shitty ones Raiders,Texans,Browns,Jaguars, and so on.Thats what the Jets and most of there fans want every season "scapegoats" .This franchise has zero stability and it shows up on Sundays
For anyone CERTAIN Rex has learned his lesson and will go offense in the first round, you will be very disappointing if Khalil Mack is still on the board.
Rex doesn't make the decisions, Idzik does. And it's all about BPA. To my knowledge, which isn't too much about college ball, the top of this draft isn't too big on offensive talent. There's lots of good defensive players who have their names floating around at the top of the list. If it comes down to a good D player and a receiver like Lee or Watkins, then of course I'm taking the receiver. But if the defensive player is hands down BPA and there's not any good offensive players to draft at that point, either you trade down or take the defensive player. Think of it like this years draft. Was there anyone worth the 9 or 13th pick on offense? Some would say Warmack, but he hasn't played like a top 10 pick this year.
Some people would gladly sacrifice having a top tier defense for the chance to have our offense MAYBE (just maybe, not even definitely) to go from shitty to mediocre.
