The Jets have a really ease schedule this year i think. How many wins do you guys think the Jets will get? Think the Jets will win 9 games this year maybe 10. Tennessee: W Pats: L Bills: W Colts: L Jags: L Fins: W Lions: W Browns: W Bye Pats: L Chicago: L Texans: W Packers: W Bills: W Vikings: W or L Fins: L Oakland: W.
Last place teams always get the easiest schedules. 10-6/9-7 is a bit aggressive with your prediction but I'll take it.
You can never tell how hard the schedule is until the season starts. I dont think we win more then 6-7 games. I just hope we finsh strong and go into season on a high note
Those days are over, since realignment in '02 the sched formual has changed. Only 2 games are determined by the previous year's sched and w/ teams getting good and bad so quick you can never tell if it's a good thing or a bad thing playing a team that finished in the same place as you.
Tennessee: L Pats: L Bills: W Colts: L Jags: L Fins: L Lions: L Browns: W Bye Pats: L Chicago: L Texans: W Packers: L Bills: L Vikings: W Fins: L Oakland: L
Titans: W Pats: W Bills: W Colts: L Jags: W Fins: W Lions: W Browns: W Bye Pats: W Chicago: L Texans: W Packers: W Bills: W Vikings: W Fins: W or L Oakland: W. I'm still sticking by my 13-3 prediction! But I also wouldn't be surprised if we beat the fins on monday night to go 14-2.
True we have a easy schedule this year but on the flip side we're not actually a high-caliber team. We're gonna struggle against teams like the Browns and the Texans. I dont wanna say it but its true. Its a shame but the Jets wont be able to take advantage of the weak schedule.
That is probably more like the truth... 7 would amount to a pipe dream. I want what Rob is smoking.
You think think the bears are that good?? Since we are so awesome they must be really good to beat us
4-12 any above that is a bonus. What I'm looking for is for the team as a whole to show signs of improvement
6-10 @ TENNESSEE (W) NEW ENGLAND (L) @ BUFFALO (L) INDIANAPOLIS (L) @ JACKSONVILLE (L) MIAMI (W) DETROIT (L) @ CLEVELAND (W) Sunday, 11/05/06 BYE @ NEW ENGLAND (L) CHICAGO (L) HOUSTON (W) @ GREEN BAY (W) BUFFALO (W) @ MINNESOTA (L) @ MIAMI (L) OAKLAND (L)
10-6 * @ TENNESSEE (W) * NEW ENGLAND (L) * @ BUFFALO (L) * INDIANAPOLIS (L) * @ JACKSONVILLE (L) * MIAMI (W) * DETROIT (W) * @ CLEVELAND (W) * Sunday, 11/05/06 BYE * @ NEW ENGLAND (L) * CHICAGO (W) * HOUSTON (W) * @ GREEN BAY (W) * BUFFALO (W) * @ MINNESOTA (W) * @ MIAMI (L) * OAKLAND (W) EDIT: I don't necessarily see the '06 Jets as an 10-6 team but when I look at the schedule I can optimistically pick out 10 wins. If we did win 10, I don't see the team going deep into the playoffs but hopefully we're much stronger at the end of the season than the beginning. Anything can happen in the NFL.
I think it works out this way for the Jets (7-9): @ TENNESSEE (W) NEW ENGLAND (L) @ BUFFALO (L) INDIANAPOLIS (L) @ JACKSONVILLE (L) MIAMI (W) DETROIT (W) @ CLEVELAND (L) @ NEW ENGLAND (L) CHICAGO (L) HOUSTON (W) @ GREEN BAY (W) BUFFALO (W) @ MINNESOTA (L) @ MIAMI (L) OAKLAND (W) I think Jacksonville, Minnesota, and Miami games could go either way, but like Buffalo, I think the Jets are in a learning curve, so they'll play better later in the season. I don't think that it's a stretch to say that the Jets could sweep Miami, especially if Penney can come back or if Ramsey plays up to the potential he showed at Tulane. I don't think Miami is as good as the media mavens believe, and they run a gauntlet of three AFC East games in a row in December. They get NE and B-lo (up in Buffalo) first so, by then, their over-blown playoff fantasies are likely to be in shreds.
The big question is which teams are in worse shape then the Jets? Titans 49ers Lions Bills Texans We have 5 games against 4 of those teams. Oakland, Cleveland, Green Bay & Minnesota are pretty close to us in terms of situation. Lphins is a rivalry game and we have done pretty well against them lately. Colts, Patriots and Jaguars are above us and should beat us. Chicago should be better than us. If we beat the teams that we are better than even in our rebuilding mode that would be 5 wins alone. Split the even teams and the Lphins is 3 more. I would be very happy at 8-8.
They have a relatively easy schedule, but I am still skeptical. As Vince Vahn and Owen Wilson said "We lost a lot of good men out there". It will take a few seasons IMO for Mangini to find his rythm and the new players adjust. We still don't know out QB situation, and at this point in the offseason, that scares me. I give us an improvement from last year, but nothing drastic. You also have to look at the Curtis Martin situation. Regardless, this is most likely his last year. If we run him hard, it will take a while next year for our backup to make the adjustments. If they split time, that could affect the season.
