From Rich Eisens twitter: Mayock just got a text that the Jets are trying to make a play and get up to No. 2 in the draft!!! Stay tuned on that one! Gotta be expensive
Jets might offer #17 and a 1st rounder in 2010 next year to move up to #2. I don't know....I want Sanchez really bad, but, I don't know if he's worth that. How about #17, a 3rd rounder and a 2nd rounder in 2010?
i would not want to give up that much for anyone, even if it turned out to be a Peyton Manning, it just would hurt too many other facets of the team. Besides, it's almost impossible to make such a trade.
Mayock said it involves the Jets 17th pick and next year's 1st Rd pick. STL would still want more, IMO. Trading next year's picks is a very BAD idea.....next year's draft is the best in a decade...Rd 1 will be loaded.
this is ridiculous, if we HAVE to take sanchez just do it at 8, if we do it at 2 we have to give him like 35 million guarenteed
At this point, why the hell didn't we just get Cutler? I really hope this doesn't happen. With the depth in next year's draft, giving up a first rounder in 2010 would be a HUGE mistake. Especially since Sanchez probably wouldn't start next year and with Clemens it could very likely be a top-10 pick.
This is nonsense..but if it were to happen it would just prove again what a fool Tannenbaum is..this would cost the Jets more than Cutler and he was a PROVEN franchise QB.
I hope we don't give up our first in 2010... I'd be okay with this: 17th overall, this and next year's second rounder, and another late rounder (5th through 7th)
