This thread will be continuously updated as the contract details come out for the remaining players who have agreed to terms. As a quick reminder, the salary cap only counts the top 51 contracts against the cap during the offseason. Once cuts occur in September, it jumps to all 55 players. Unless the cap hits on all those guys are half of what the reported APY is (or the value of their reporter one year deal) it looks like we’re done making big moves.

We been done making big move since FA started. Outside of the McGovern deal we been working on a solid team. No big splashes. It's nice for a change. Douglas believes in building through the draft. Exactly what good teams do.

Im not saying it’s a bad thing. I think know we have people pining for Clowney and Trent Williams.

This is an awesome job dude. Great work.

That inside linebacker position is way over invested. It's fine if we don't have any other reasonable free agents in mind though. They will be the strength of our team. Mosely's a nice player but his contract is disgusting. All 32 teams should use the Jets past five free agency periods (excluding this one) of what not to do.

Henry Anderson's awful contract inflates that defensive end number. I liked him a year ago too but he was a net zero last year.

Sadly when you break it down most of the money is tied up in people who were injured/didn't contribute much last year or new to the team.

Thanks a lot, I enjoy doing this stuff, gives me a much better understanding myself as I go through it all. One of the most striking things to me was the lack of investment at OLB. It will look a little different when the contracts come through but even so, it likely will still be 4x less than ILB.

For everyone that wants us to draft offense in the early rounds, our cap suggests that pass rush or cornerback are the biggest needs.

If we could trade down, fill one of these huge holes on defense and still get a top 50 player at WR or OL I think we come out strong on both sides of the ball.

It’s one way to look at it. There are many ways to build a team.

I think what you meant to say was "...pass rush or cornerback are the biggest needs after OL and WR".

You do realize that 9 of the last 10 first round picks have been on "D", right? And how many times were we in the playoffs and got to the SB with that "dominant" defense? It's an offense-oriented league, specifically pass-oriented, by mandate of the NFL and TV contracts. Frankly if we used every pick this year on offense, we'd still be catching up. And especially since this draft is deep in WRs and pretty deep in OL, and not very deep at pass rush. I do expect JD to grab a CB in the middle rounds, and maybe even a pass rushing specialist, but I'd be shocked if he doesn't focus on the OL and WR.

Do not put words in my mouth.

Whatever our prior GMs did in other drafts is irrelevant.

We need to fix the mess we have now.

One doesn't ascertain team needs by looking at the cap. That's ridiculous. A need is determined by a lack of talent at a position and it has nothing to do with cap space.

Cap makes it look like we have to upgrade the QB position immediately. Get Cam and Jameis signed to big deals ASAP and let them battle for it.

We could use an upgrade at #2 QB.

Also it is not like we have any #1 draft picks at OLB or CB.
