IMO, these are our keys to a successful 08 season. The "ifs": If-someone on our defensive line can generate a pass rush If-Thomas Jones can find the holes our O-line open for him If- Brett Favre doesn't turn into the interception machine he has been in seasons past If-Thomas is the defensive player the FO thought he was when they gave him the big contract IF- A reciever stands up and shows he is a consistent #3 IF-Coles and Favre show they are not adversly affected by the lack of playing time in the preseason If-Calvin Pace is as good as advertised If-Damian Woody can play tackle consistently IF- We can weather the growing pains in the first half of the season If- We win the games we're supposed to win If- Our lack of a legit corner opposite Revis, and safty opposite Rhoades does'nt become our achille's heel We will be a force in the playoffs.
If all these "if's" go in our favor, we will be a near perfect team...which doesn't happen. I would have to say I think the growing pains may be a little pertinent before the bye week, but luckily our bye week is very early this year. I think Favre will be a pro, a guy who can make all the throws. I think all the other ones are good though, I would have to say 2 or three of those at the least will definitely not go in our favor though.
there is really only one if that matters at this point. There are many "if's" that make up the big IF, but in the end it's the only one that matters.... IF it all comes together at the right time, the Jets will be XLIII Superbowl Champions.
i think the first if will take care of the second if.if we get a pass rush the 2nd corner just needs to be servicable and lowery is more then that.i can't wait to stop talking about the ifs amd start talking about the whats.3 more hours lets go jets
Always plenty of, "if's" for every team at the beginning of the season. It's what makes the NFL so captivating IMO. All the storylines, and seeing them play out over the next four months.
