on ESPN Radio / "The Huddle" show w/ John Clayton & Sean Salisbury. Salisbury asked Clayton for a 10 second opinion on each of the 32 teams. re the Jets, Clayton said , - they are automatically in the Brady Quinn sweepstakes - they will be terrible in 2006. Salisbury pretty much agreed w/ him. just an fyi . . .
they must not be Jets fans. I don't think we will win the SB ( unlike this time last yr), but there is no way that the team will be terrible this yr. ( barring a lot of key injuries )
ask me if i care what the NERD WONDER has to say. for friggin 10 years i've been watching spit collect on his mouth, he's disgusting. most of us know we're going to be bad next year.
yup, didn't both of these guys call the Jets superbowl contenders last year as well? It's mid-may and we're getting predictions like this already. At least wait until you see them hit the field a few times before you write them off.
did I miss something .. where most of us know we are going to be bad this yr?? I think we were bad last yr because of the injuries to the QB's. We would have been better than 4-12. Unless the same thing happens again, we should be looking at 7 to 9 wins. I am optimistic even with a new system.
Getting the #1 pick will not be the brady quinn sweepstakes. It better not be, because he's so overrated it's not funny.
Did anyone expect the Bears to contend last year? No. There is always that oone surprise team that comes out of seemingly nowhere. The Chargers were that team a couple of years ago. Its teams that have some talent and then have other players step up big time. The Jets have talent. They have a defense that could be pretty damn good. Who knows, maybe someone will shock the world on offense this year. Maybe the Jets will be last years Bears. Then again, there is an excellent chance the Jets will be in the Brady Quinn sweepstakes. PS It's only May.
Why are people still bringing up Brady Quinn as a possibility for the Jets?? We have a future QB. His name is Kellen Clemens.
You say that an awful lot, may I ask why you think that way, so I can do my best to rebut your claim?
I heard the show myself. Clayton's exact words were "The Jets will stink. They will be drafting Brady Quinn first overall next season".
I'll save the first pick overall for the Bills right now. Jets had 2 games that they could have won, OT with Jacksonville and 4 chances from 4 yard line vs. San Diego. Now all of a sudden we are 6-10. I can't think of any other games, but if a few balls go our way, all of a sudden we are 8-8 and not the stinkfest of the NFL. I realize the good teams find a way to win, and we were not a good team last year, but considering the injuries, I don't see the Jets at the bottom of the pack. We are middle ground guys. We'll beat a few good teams, lose to some we shouldn't, and basically tread water all season long.
there's at least one team in our own DIVISION who will be worse than us. Jeebus. They are so far off. I don't normally mind Clayton, but I must admit I'm waiting for Salisbury's jugular to pop onscreen. It's gonna happen.
I will peckerslap John Clayton, every time I see him I get angry. Never in my life has the sight of someone I never met made me angry, congratulations you fucking NERD. Why would we draft Quinn next year even if we did have the first pick?
Not sure where you came up with that. From the physical to mental tools, there's nothing that would suggest he's going to be a bust. How many ND games do you watch a year? If you want to judge him based on his performance vs. Ohio State, go ahead. But then you better throw in the tape vs. USC to get a balanced perspective. And being tutored by Charlie Weis -- Tom Brady's mentor -- will only make him more ready for the NFL.
SHEESHUS.. We couldn't even grab the #1 pick with a complete offensive meltdown and Herm Edwards as HC.....
