I decided I wanted a closer look at how Fitz might perform this season,
so I looked at his passing stats for all the games he has played against
this season's opponents since he became a starter in 2008. He is actually
better than I thought he was, but the overall record is one of consistent
    mediocrity.

His overall QB rating in the 54 games is 80.9. Not bad, and certainly good
enough if he has a good enough team around him, meaning outstanding
    defense. Here are the problems:

In only 19 of 54 games did Fitz throw 0 int's.

19 games had only 1 td, 11 games had 0 td, so 30 of 54 games he threw only 0 or 1 td
He threw for 3 or 4 td's in only 9 games.

Here is the most telling stat:
The number of games where he threw either 0 tds and 0 ints, 0 tds and at
least 1 int, or 1 td with at least 1 int, or 2td with at least 1 int is 41.
    A td-int stat line that consistently looks like 2 1 or 1 2 or 0 1 or 1 0
or 1 1 or 2 2 or 2 3 is not going to win much above 0.500 unless you are
    playing for the 2000 Ravens.

I hope Gailey didn't convince the Jets to sign Fitz because he wants to
prove that that 2011 contract he gave Fitz with the Bills wasn't a mistake.

I'd say you need not worry about that scenario. My guess is there's a good chance that Chan, Todd, and Mac are beyond that kind of motivation and thinking.

Bills suck. The last time they made the playoffs, I was way younger.

    Am I doing it right?

Bottom line: He's not good, but he's better than Geno.

You also need to realize that a lot of those yards and touchdowns came in garbage time after Fitz sucked for three quarters and the game was already out of reach. Fitztragic is garbage and ur stuck with him. If you guys win 8 games you'll be stuck with him for a few more years!! Im rooting for .500 for you guys.

Not a Fitz or Geno fan, I would get Vinny back he's only 49 so we could actually complete a long pass and utilize all these weapons, but Let's Go Jets!

    Actually Fitz is good.

    Not great.
    Not terrible.

    Just good. Just good enough.

This is a pretty dumb post. The Jets lost 6 games, which means there are only 6 possible games that could have been "out of reach" by the fourth quarter. We know the Bills games came down to the last possession so those games weren't out of reach. You mean to tell me most of his TDs and yards came in 4 total quarters max?

They breed em special up there in Buffalo or down there in Miami or wherever you're from.

Edit: Fitz didn't even play in the 4th of one of the losses so you're basically saying a majority of his yards and TDs came in 3 quarters. It gets dumber by the minute.

2015 Jets losses pretty much all followed the same template.
    • The offense was unable to score early TD's. They didnt make early turnovers that led to scores, they just couldnt convert.
    • The defense couldn't get off the field. Allowing long drives, either through 3rd down intermediate passes or penalties. They gave up very few long strike scores (Revis on Hopkins) and no one ran wild on them.
    • Special teams consistently put the D in a bad spot either from shanked punts or missed assignments.
    • The offense comes alive in the second half and puts points on the board, and the defense stiffens up, but either Fitz gets too aggressive and throws picks or recievers drop balls (Buffalo in both games...)
I think with a new punter, more speed at linebacker and the additions of Forte and hopefully Amaro stepping up, the Jets have addressed these issues.

You mean besides the fact he threw most of his yards and TDs in the 2nd quarter and second most yards in the 1st quarter?
He also only threw 559 of his 3905 yards and 3 TDs when behind by 9-16 points.

All of these stats are easily available online so your post can only mean one of two things. You are either touched in the head and can't figure how to look these things up or you are just another Bills troll. I am guessing a little bit of both.

There are very few here that expect a All Pro season from Fitz, he is a hold the fort QB until a draft pick is ready so stop acting like everyone here is expecting an MVP season out of him.

I bet Vinny can still wing the rock around. We better cut all our tightends and sign some extra tackles to protect him though. Shotgun, one step 'drops' only.

You're a little wide of the mark. Wide right specifically.
