reading the threads since the houston game i see people predicting us to be 4-4 by the break(certainly plausible) and with most giving us a gimmie win over the dolphins... i still dont get it. the first time around, when healthy, i was shocked that everyone was predicting wins and blowouts. giving the phins no chance. now, after losing a couple of our best players, losing 3 of the last 4 games, and getting embarrased on the ground and looking putrid on offense(1 offensive touchdown since the dolphins game) people STILL have this as a gimmie game. the dolphins arent great. they have a rookie qb and worse skill guys then us maybe. but, they are much much more physical then us on both sides of the ball. we saw that last time, we saw that last year. that wont be a cakewalk.... dont be suprised when its close or we are behind part I: http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=74266&highlight=dolphins
I don't care if we win every one of our games by one point, a W is a W. That being said; this game will still be as close as last time.
"great chance" based on what? we barely scraped by them in overtime, after they missed a very makable game winning kick. since they we have lost holmes and they have bush back. tannehill now has more games under his belt. can we beat them? yes. "great chance" give me a break. healthy we wouldnt have a great chance
Its definitely not an easy win, but I believe that we will have a better team this next time than we did week 3. We should have our primary target back (Keller) and Hill should be back. Yeah we lost Revis but Cro has been doing good and we didn't hear of Wilson this week (good thing). Only thing is we would need Lankster to step up against his man. Our pass defense is still pretty good its our run defense that needs work. I think we will have a fuller team, at least offense come this second game.
based on almost beating perhaps the best team in the AFC the other night We "barely" beat Miami but we got screwed w/ multiple bad calls that gave them pts and took away points from us, we lost revis in the game and we were on the road. anything can happen in a rivalry game but we will be the favored team entering that game. we'll have a great chance to win, it doesn't mean we will but we'll have a great chance.
how does "almost" beating a team give you a great chance at anything? we also got embarrased by the 49ers the week before. oh, and more importantly, miami(you know the team we are talking about) took us to overtime and was set up for a GW field goal. so last time, against the same team, who is healthier this time, playing us as we are less healthy, and who took us to overtime, will now have a terrible chance at beating us somehow? because we came close to beating the texans?
I agee. I think this game is a toss up at best. Miami has improved every week since our game with them. They should have beat an undefeated Arizona team in the desert and lost in OT. They beat a solid Cincy team in Cincy. Also I believe Hartline only had one catch against us in that first game. I think Tannehill is proving many doubters wrong. The kid is a gunslinger with a big time arm. If the Jets win this game it will be a fg difference again.
awesome, good for Miami that they had a near 50 yd attempt to beat us. if they make the right call on the fasano drop that takes away 4 pts from them, if they make the right call on the false start that gives us 4 more pts. We never should have needed OT. we played much better against Hou than SF, I assume that will continue. You laugh at being close to Hou but your evidence for Miami is they played us close.
even if it doesnt go to overtime. and we win in regulation. its still a game we had to fight tooth and nail. a game they dominated us in physically, and run all over us in. you choose to look at a houston game were we played our absolute best and fire dup and still lose and got ran all over on. you choose to ignore the 3 games prior where we looked awful. in other words, i got my awnser, you think we will win becase you are a giant homer
If we looked awful and still beat them then what does that make them? We won a close divisional game on the road where the refs screwed us multiple times directly taking away a touchdown. Now we are at home. I'm not saying we are going to blow them out or anything but its not crazy to expect to win that game. You are giving the Phins too much credit.
or are you giving the jets too much credit. given the injuries are we the better team, talent wise? do we have the better QB? the better defense? we certainly dont have the better run game or pass rush. they match up well. its not crazy to think we can win. it is crazy to EXPECT us to win.
I think it is crazy to expect to win any game when you have the 2nd worst run D in the league. I'm not saying you can't think you should beat a team but to think any game is a given when teams can run the ball at will and control the clock is silly.
I think it's safe to say that no game is a gimme given the current state of our team. With that thought in mind, perhaps we should focus on the Indy game before moving on to Miami.
check the week 6 colts thread. at least a dozen "if we beat the colts we will be at worst 4-4 going into the bye" talk
I don't think we played our best against Houston. I see reading is a major problem for you, I never said we would win, I said we had a great chance to win. Do you understand that phrase? we didn't have a great chance the other night and still almost won, a "great chance" does not guarantee victory.
