I refuse to put any hope in a scared broken down QB that couldn't even beat 12 year olds in a punt, pass, and kick contest.

Chad is not the answer and he will not fill the seats any more. Like it or not we have no superstar at QB, RB, or WR. Our offense is full of shoulda's, coulda's, over the hill's, and never will be's.

If we don't take a QB or RB in the 1st round, or worse yet draft an OT at #4, I will officially throw in the towel on this season. Why draft a OT when we have nothing worth protecting to put behind him?

You don't take a guy that doesn't even touch the ball at #4. Didn't the Jets learn this with Robertson?

If we don't draft a superstar for the offense this year we will be in the right spot to draft one next year. We'll have the #1 pick overall.

I gave him a chances to show he was the real deal after a promising end to 2002.

    In return for my hopes and praises I was given 2003, 2004 & 2005. I don't want a 4th sequel. I want a whole new show.

8-8 would be like the superbowl to this team. It is what it is. Have faith though. Restructuring Chad is more about saving cap dollars then actually wanting to compete this year. I'm positive that some form of QB will be drafted this year and Chad, while not the most gifted of atheletes, will definitely serve as a good tutor.

There is a difference between a sold seat and a filled seat.

Name what we have top look forward to.

    Another year with CHad!

A running game that will be lucky to average 3 yards a carry.

An OL that will be like openning the floodgates.

watching overated WRs & TEs drop the ball.

Or best of all watching the DL which we have spent so much money and picks in to build up over the years, still allowing 160 rushing yards a game. Even with Abe gone we still have three first rounds on the DL and we are horrible. We have the two highest paid defensive players on the team and four first round picks invested on the DL even without Abe and we still suck. Suck Suck Suck

We may as well have hired Kotite back.

How about looking forward to the rest of the offseason, before making crazy assumptions?

Christ Almighty, man, give it a rest. There is a new HC and coaching staff, a new GM, and half the offense is being replaced. Chad couldn't be let go without totally destroying the cap, and will have to earn the starting position against another vet, and will most likely have a high draft pick fighting against him as well.

If you don't want to see a bad season, then I suggest you take up knitting or something.

    Do you even watch football?

I guess the only players that matter are players that touch the ball? Forget the OL - it means nothing. They don't touch the ball. And to defense touch the ball either. Wasted players and picks. The Jets should only draft and play QBs RBs and receivers!!! They touch the ball.

Your statement "Why draft an OT when we have nothing worth protecting to put behind him" takes the cake. That is like saying why build a house if you have no furniture and appliances to put inside? What would you buy first? The house or the furniture? You build your line, then you put the QB and RB behind them. Otherwise the QB gets killed and RB has nowhere to run. The OL is the foundation for an offense. You build the OL and then add the skill players. If you add skill players without the OL, you get the Houston Texans with David Carr and Andre Johnson. Carr can't throw from his back and Johnson can't show his skills if the QB is running for his life.

As for Pennington, I guess you were in Tibet or something in 2004. That was just a horrible season!!! The guy wins 8 of 13 games and the first Jet playoff win on the road in 22 years, and within two missed FGs of the AFC title game, all with an injured shoulder, and he is a bum??? He throws 16 TDs and 9 Ints witha 91 rating on a team that was a run first and run often and you can't bare to watch that again. What drugs are you on. Is your memory that short??? I will take a repeat of 2004 in 2006 or 2007 in a heartbeat.

As for 2003, He gets a freak wrist injury in the preseason after his great 2002 season. Testaverde starts the year 2-5. Pennington goes 4-5 the rest of the way, but let's look at some of these losses. There was the OT loss to the Giants when he drove the Jets to two fourth quarter TDs to erase a 14 point lead. Then he drove the team into field goal range only to have the chance to win squandered when Brien took too much time pacing out his kick. Then you have the Miami game, when the defense let the Dolphins walk down the field in the closing minute after Pennington gave the Jets the lead. Or the Indy game, when Pennington put up amazing numbers in under 20 minutes of possession, only to have the defense get shredded by the Colts.

Pennington is 21-16 since 2002 and the other Jet QB's are 8-19. Pennington's QB rating is 92 and the other QBs is 74. Pennington has a 2-2 playoff record in that period, and other Jet QBs have not sniffed the playoffs. Yep - I couldn't take much more of that either. What a bum. And scared too. Quincy Carter - now there's a brave man- he was sacked about 15 times in three games when Pennington was sacked as many times in 13 games.

I can't wait to see people on this board eat their words when Pennington comes back and plays well.

I cannot wait until Penny throws his 1st noodle arm dying duck & see what fans say then. However, what the NYJs did makes good sense re cap wise as he can be cut next year with no further cap hit or be cut this year & our hit is only 3M
