    The pass defense killed us.

No blitzes, no stunts, no pressure.

    F*** the FG.

Actually, you should never f***ing give up a lead after TWO GAME MOMENTUM SHIFTING POINTS. The Jets defense is so f***ing awful its ridiculous.

Mangini put the team in a position to win all afternoon. The Jets had a lead with 50 seconds.

    give it a rest

We don't have the personnel to play the d Mangini wants. to. And we knew this coming in. You should not be surprised.

At the time I said that if the Jets lost it's all on Mangini, but I agree that that is too simple. Yes, he should have kicked the FG, especially given the horrible play they ran instead, but the Jets defense TWICE couldn't protect a 4 point lead in the fourth quarter, and that's just unacceptable.

You celebrate the great ( onside kick, 4th down conversion etc), you live w/ the bad. I will not kill mangini. I go down with this team

Without the onside kick and the subsequent score it wouldn't have mattered, you win some, you lose some but I for one like the gutsy coaching unlike Da-Herm

well we should've at least tied the game, but as usual we lose under the most bizarre circumstances (the intereference on Miller was BS and the most perfect pooch kick in history that went down to the 2) and in the process we got 2 key players hurt.

Still, if the game was 31-31, we'd been watching Peyton Manning eluding 11 defenders now and throwing a blind, underhand 87 yard touchdown pass to Marvin Harrison who's already on his back, catching it with his pinkies.

Believe me, that FG would've made things more agonizing.

Mangini just rolled the dice one too many times against an opponent that's far too worthy. These are not the Titans or Bills. You can't leave anything on the board.

Still, I love the confidence we played with....but in the end it ends up being typical Jets.

I love this teams offense right now, the defense is patchwork, it needs a lot of work. We couldn't lay a hand on Manning in the 2nd half. Not a hand.

you wouldn't be crying if we got that TD.

No, I don't blame Mangini for that 4th down call... the one I didn't like was the 3rd down run up the gut...but You don't need to blame him for being gutsy.

Mangini showed today why he's both a very good coach, and that he's not perfect yet. You can't leave the points on the field, I called it in the chat, and I still feel the same way.

That being said the onsides call was amazing, and the team put up a fantastic effort against the best team in football probably.

Even with the field goal it would have been 31-31 and we still would have had to stop the Colts on defense.

we have the players to keep it close. at worst, the game should be in OT. going for it on 4th down and not getting those 3 points killed us. I know there are more than just a few of us here that said, "we're gonna lose by 3" after that happened. as a jet fan, you had to have known that was going to be the outcome.

the team played a great game. 2 mistakes killed us. the fumble on the opening drive, and then mangini not kicking the fg. when you have a chance for points agains indy, you take them. im proud of the team, and i still like mangini, but that was a rookie head coach fuck up.

Good point - the only hope would have been winning the coin toss in OT.

Oh shutup you second guessing freakin loser. That was absolutely the right thing to do. He knew when push came to shove they were never stopping the Colts when it was money time and he was proven right on the last two drives. The Jets absolutely positively did not deserve to win the game. They had two long drive chances at the end where they just had to stop them once and couldn't do it. Learn the f-in game.

he isnt gutsy, hes smart and disciplined, thats why he was hired. he made too many gambles in the game today. some worked, and some didnt. but if the game were tied with that fg, there wouldnt have been a need for all the tossing and flipping of the ball, and coles wouldnt have been laying on the ground in what looked like agony with no time left.

if coles is out for any legnth of time, it falls squarely on the HC and his gambles.

Other than the 4th down decision, Mangini coached circles around Dungy and his defensive coordinator. Peyton is Peyton, he took advantage of our D but that has nothing to do with Dungy.

You obviously don't know the game. Meaning the guy putting down them going for it. not the post after it

    1. I think the 4th down call was the right one to call. It just didn't turn out in Jet's favor, but I would have called the same thing if I was in that position; you've got to have that much of trust and confidence in your personnels, as the HC anyway.

    2. This defense needs some serious fixing. I hoped, for a brief moment, that Justin Miller went out of bound instead of returning the kickoff for TD, as I had absolutely no confidence whatsoever in the team of personnels impersonating as NFL defense. In other words, I would have preferred Chad having the ball with 1 minute or so to go, despite being down, to Manning having the ball in the same situation.

    3. By no means this implies that Colts beat Mangini - the coach has done just about all that he could, IMHO. The defense couldn't stop girlscout team, and that is why the Jets lost today.
