About 10 years ago I joined this board with a few other aussies cos the Jets were brave enough to get Ben Graham an ex afl player as there punter. Fast forward and now other Aussies are playing in the nfl in non punting roles . In fact Jaryd Haynes an ex rugby league mvp is trying to get on the 49's roster as a running back . However the big news is a young American born and raised in the states ( not born in the states and raised in australia ) will debut today in Afl after 2 years in the system here http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bas...s-compete-top-level-australian-rules-football This is an awesome effort , because although Holmes height is an advantage , he still needed to learn all the skills to play the game. Un like American football were skills are position based , ie running backs run the ball and dont tackle, Holmes needed to learn how to kick , mark, handball , tackle etc . I look forward to his game, he would not have been chosen unless the coaches thought he could contribute to the team and not a PR exercise
I think it's awesome that some of you guys stuck around long after the name Ben Graham. It's a more fun, and diverse place.
When you live in a place where just about everything can kill you, you don't have much left to prove.
