I would love to bring in someone like Cowher because it would FINALLY break the masochistic cycle of abuse between the Jets and Patriots. I don't know about you, but I've had it up to here with players and coaches going and back and forth between New England, all the hoopla over a handshake, all the talk about the Belli/ Parcells trees, etc. I want a total F-in clean break from all the bullshit. A coach that has no ties to any of this crap. Anyone else feel just as fed up? I KnOW that's not why we're sucking... I'm just sick of it.

I agree, i wouldn't be opposed to breaking this cycle... were not even in the same leauge as th pats, and now i guess the dolphins are about to surpass us.. Its ridiculous....we cant get out of our own way..We have so many more problems than this crap. Time to move on from the Bills and there tree of coaches, especially since we got the broken branch !

He is almost dead, if you didn't know yet. *I am serious. He had health concerns for the past few years, and wasn't seen in any public showing for months.*

I don't think that Cowher would go to the Jets because he will want more control of the team, then you guys will probably give.

ok, then someone ELSE not in any way related to the last 10 years of Jets/Pats relationships. A total outsider. That's all I'm saying...

From what I have heard, I believe he will want more say in personnel decisions if he comes back. There will probably be several teams that will want to talk to him after this year, and it will probably take a nice offer with money and personnel decision say so for him to leave the studio gig.

I am sure Woody would give him power alongside Mike T...

I know it was under Hess, but BP was a HC here with the same desires as Cowher.

Of course he'll want to make the personnel decisions. What makes you think the Jets won't allow it?

I was under the impression that Mike Tannenbaum would do that. Here is a list of teams the could be in the running for Bill's services:

Buffalo-Would keep him on the east coast and close to family.

Cincinnati-Would keep him close to home still, but would this be a good fit since he was with the Steelers, and the problems or turning this roster.

Browns-Falls under the catagory of Cincy

Jags- This maybe a good fit as far as being on the east coast, close to home for Bill.

Chargers-They say Norv will be back, but even if he doesn't AJ Smith wants a yes man.

Lions-Maybe too much, but may also be something if he had the right staff, could be the most rewarding.

Rams-Haslett could get it, who knows.

Kansas City-Herm I think is done here, and they are looking for a GM already. I personally think being a Head Coach/GM is too much for one person, aka Jimmy Johnson, Nick Saban.

Raiders-I don't know anyone externally that wants this gig.

Saints-Have to see what happens there.

Jets-Is it a good fit for Bill and the Jet Organization as far as decision making. We shall see. I think there will be an awful lot of competition for Bill. What will the Jets offer if Mangini is let go?

Another question is if the Jets let go of Mangini, how long will it take to make the decision, and will they be swift enough with a big enough offer to close the deal?

I didn't put the 49ers because I believe they are going to lock up Singletary for the HC position.
