Jeff Cumberland is the worst TE in the league. Nick Mangold is the best Center, and Sheldon Richardson is the 2nd best 3-4 DE after Watt. Note: Muhammad Wilkerson was also on this list until he got injured and stopped accumulating points. Brian Winters was also the worst LG for a while before he got hurt. Only one player on the worst players list? Brian Winters? Geno Smith? Our entire secondary? We were robbed!
Cumberland has been terrible all year. Nothing more evident then that dropped TD in Minnesota. He's had a rough year. Mangold on the other hand has been absolutely dominant. The only time I remember watching him get beat was that play in San Diego where Vick got clobbered.
Kinda sad about Leon Washington, I have to admit. Maybe the last good homegrown RB the Jets drafted. Always liked that guy.
Cumberland confirming everything I knew prior to the beginning of the season. He's not a TE, doesn't block and is awful catching the football consistently.
Brian Winters was on this list until he got injured. It's cumulative so Mike McGlynn later passed him. I'm not sure if Geno was ever on this list but since he didn't play half of our games it makes sense that he's not.
no surprise seeing Revis on here again. along with Browner, the Pats really upped that secondary, and they've been frustrating opposing QB's all year. Cumberland is terrible. I've been saying this for a long time. His pass blocking is non existent (has to be worst in league), and he doesn't run block or provide a threat in the passing game. Our corners would be on the list if they weren't benched on a rotating basis for poor play. anyone know Breno's grade? He can't be too far off from the bottom. Mangold is a rock.
Another interesting aspect to the PFF CB ratings: Of all the FA CBs available in the 2014 offseason, 7 of them will finish in the top 15 CB rankings this year. Revis, Davis, Verner, Corey Graham, Flowers, DRC, and Cro. can also mention Talib, Grimes, Munnerlyn.....all making a positive impact. best FA CB class in quite some time. For comparison, Walls, Allen, Adams, Wilson, Williams, and Milliner all finished with very negative ratings. None of them even reached the top 50. great job Idzik.
But, but, but in the thread defending Idzick someone said that the Giants are overpaying DRC for average / below average performance.
Absolutely right: At the time I was a JI supporter but when he made Cumby RFA worth a 2nd round draft pick and therefore he had to pay Cumby good money, that was my first inkling that JI was not going to be a good GM.
Cumberland is nearly worthless. I don't think he's talentless but at this point I don't think he's going to put I together.
Cumberland has really disappointed. I thought he would progress into a solid player, one of many let downs in 2014.
