Thank you for trying to juice up the Sox/Yanks rivalry. It's been pretty boring the last few years...you know with the Sox winning Championships and all. But hey...at least you are leading with the number of former players testifying in front of Congress over Steroid use

    Red Sox Nation Baby!!

How many do the Yankees have this century?

The Red Sox Nation thing is annoying as fuck to anyone that was a fan when the Sox were less popular, and really just annoying in general. Larry Lucchino pissed me off to no end with his "evil empire" crap and from and objective standpoint I think it's pretty obvious that the Sox are morphing into the Yankees of the '90s, which I'm thrilled about.

Hank Steinbrenner seems to be more arrogant than his dad and less brilliant.

ACtually,Epstein started it the other day with his shot at Yankees pitchers. Hank has a point,Red Sox nation is lame. A "nation" or any other unity like that is usually formed when the group has been getting their ass kicked and embarrased for years. Thats how a lot of gangs start. Yeah, you've won a couple of Championships in the last 4 years. Call ius when you win 3 in a row.

its good for the game to have a hank steinbrenner...it doesnt "impact" the games but it makes it more fun...really a non story......and this thought that the Sox are as popular contry-wide and globally than the Yankees is quite foolish

Here we go w/ the Century technicality. We have 1 Championship this decade and the Sox have 2, only 19 more and you'll catch us.

I know you get just as much joy from all those championships in the '20s, '30s,'40s and '50s as I get from the Sox championships 100 years ago  .

Yeah, I still haven't recovered from all those World Series the Yankees won 40 years before I was born.

I'm pretty sure Hank Steinbrenner is mentally retarded. It's good to know that someone without a brain will be in charge of the Yankees now. I wonder when his next "deadline" will be ignored.

    I. HEART. HANK. STEINBRENNER!

The old man's two-sentence "statements" released to the press when things were going badly had grown terribly stale. Hank knows how to find a friggin' microphone!

And I'm sure Mitchell being a Red Sox employee had NOTHING to due with it either

No, it didn't, and if you think it did you have the same mental capacity as good ol' Hank. It wasn't even Mitchell who went to McNamee and Radomski, it was Novitzky who led him there.

EDIT: And actually, the only reason ANY of them are testifying anywhere is because Clemens tried to lie his way out of it. If not for that, none of them would have ever gone to Congress.

That's very true. And, overlooked. If Roger Clemens had just kept silent, no one would have been called before Congress, and half of the country would probably be giving Roger the "benefit of the doubt" he angrily demanded at his silly press conference. Not me, but plenty of others.

Really, so if Brian Cashman were selected to do a report on steroids (yes I realize he is more a Yankees employee than Mitchell is for the Red Sox), and a bunch of Red Sox were named with very few Yankees you wouldn't be at all suspicious? I believe that all of the Yankees on the list definitely took steroids, but somehow I feel he left a few players off.

And Devil, do you really think that Hank is mentally retarted? He is just trying to spice things up...Mentally retarted is the guy who drives the wrong way down the interstate not the guy who pokes fun at a rival team.

Any way you look at it the Yanks come out on top. Those Championships count from the '20s-'60s but I've been alive for 6 compared to 2 for Boston and we have seen 4 in the last 11 years compared to 2 for Boston.

I haven't recovered from the ONE Championship the Mets had before I was born either.

    This I will agree with.

    This, I won't.

I agree with this, as well.

Hank's an idiot. Or, at the very least, has zero tact and/or PR skills. The good news is that he doesn't call the shots like his father did. Hank is not going to (read: can't) fire Girardi or Cashman after a three-game losing streak. Let him talk all he wants. Let him tell the media about whatever supposed deadlines he wants. It's amusing to watch Sox fans react to it.

ETA: The entire championship argument is lame. Who has more? Who won when? Who cares? What is evident (to me, at least) is that New England are suffering from Nouveau Riche Disease. They might have won more recently, but they're not used to it, and don't know how to handle the backlash. Thankfully, the Super Bowl dispersed most of the cloud of smug that's been hanging over the city.

Who the fuck are you and when do I brag about the 1969 World Series as you have implied?

Can you ever act like an adult? must you curse?

You started your usual whine about past Yankee Championships as if they are irrelevent. I understand the jealousy, just admit it and move on.
