Ok so I have been thinking about this for a while. This is kind of pertains to the 2010 Draft, one at a time thread http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=46707 already started. Any way I know how we all harp on prospects who we like or dont like etc. But we dont really put a mark on the prospect. Now if no one else likes the idea feel free to ignore it but I derived a very simple way of grading prospects, that has nothing to do with the round they are selected in. The scale is a 4 to 1 scale. Here is what I got. I'll put the grade then what qualifies the prospect for the grade

4- impact rookie, shows the ability to have a very strong NFL career ex Pro Bowls, top at position, fast cars, etc

3 - Quality starter, never will be the big name but will have longevity by being a good overall player, nothing really special, play on multiple teams but will not have a big NFL legacy

2- Quality Backup or Utility player. Prospect has some good qualities, but not enough to start. Good be a valuable in certain game situations.

    1- Purely a developmental prospect.

Now keep in mind this is designed to judge a prospects skill and potential, not where he will be drafted. What do you guys think?

I don't really see how this will work until the college football season is over and guys start declaring for the draft.

Washington has a RB Chris Polk that looked really good against ND braking multiple tackles at the line of scrimmage and gaining excellent yards. keep an eye on him!!

Also we have plenty of guys on our own roster who weren't big time rookies. but have made a solide name for themselves. Look at Cotchery, and like Bart Scott, not everybody who becomes a big time player was great their rookie season...

Well the grading system is for the prospects. If we all turn out to be wrong so be it, I'm not saying what I came up with has to be held through out a players career. it's just a way to judge prospects

I just used an impact rookie to demonstrate who is already super NFL ready

I'm not sure being an impact rookie should be a description for a player that merits having the top grade. Someone could think Sanchez is going to be a Hall of Famer, even if he sat his first year and would still be classified as a 4 by that poster.
